LA County Supervisor Votes To Ban Outdoor Dining – Dines Outdoors Hours Later

Sheila Kuehl, a supervisor for Los Angeles County, voted to ban outdoor dining last week, only to be caught dining outdoors only hours later.

Kuehl is the latest in a string of Democrat, pro-lockdown politicians who have been caught violating their own rules.

Kuehl: Outside Dining Is “A Most Dangerous Situation”

Last Tuesday, LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, along with the rest of the board, voted to implement a three week ban on outdoor dining for Los Angeles restaurants from November 25th, in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

During the meeting, Kuehl described outdoor dining as “a most dangerous situation,” claiming that if customers were to visit the restaurant unmasked, they could potentially expose any of their servers to the coronavirus.

“This is a serious health emergency and we must take it seriously,” Kuehl continued.

“The servers are not protected from us, and they’re not protected from their other tables that they’re serving at that particular time, plus all the hours in which they’re working.”

However, Fox 11 in Los Angeles discovered that only hours after voting to ban outdoor dining, Kuehl dined outside at Il Forno Trattoria in Santa Monica

The Italian restaurant right near her home has been described by her in the past as one of her favorites.

The restaurant manager told Fox’s Bill Melugin that the restaurant “didn’t want to get involved,” and declined to comment.

Kuehl’s office did issue a short statement on her appearance at the restaurant however.

“She did dine al fresco at Il Forno on the very last day it was permissible,” the statement read.

“She loves Il Forno, has been saddened to see it, like so many restaurants, suffer from a decline in revenue. She ate there, taking appropriate precautions, and sadly will not dine there again until our Public Health Orders permit.”

Democrat Politicians Constantly Flaunt Their Own Lockdown Rules

Kuehl was slammed by local restaurant owners for her hypocrisy, which “blew them away.”

“That sends a message that we’re getting direction from people that aren’t really believing in messages they’re making,” said Michael Voltaggio.

“For me it’s just proof of the continuous hypocrisy and just the lack of leadership and education as to what’s happening right now in this sort of shoot from the hip mentality that’s not doing anybody any good,” he added.

She isn’t the only politician to be caught flaunting measures that they claim would help protect us all from the coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the course of the year, we’ve seen multiple Democrat politicians who’ve created the rules break them, and then act like it was all no big deal.

In April, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot flaunted her own quarantine rules to get a haircut from a salon, defending her decision by claiming that as “the public face of this city,” she needs to look good for the cameras.

“I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye,” she told a reporter.

“I take my personal hygiene very seriously. As I said, I felt like I needed to have a haircut. I’m not able to do that myself, so I got a haircut. You want to talk more about that?”

Last week, California Governor Gavin Newsom was caught attending a maskless dinner, with 22 people, not 12 as his own rules stated, that ended up racking up a tab of $15,000.

Newsom downplayed his flagrant violation of lockdown rules by downplaying it as a simple mistake, and not an irresponsible, criminal act as it would be if it was any ordinary American.

“We’re all human. We all fall short sometimes,” he argued.

Why Should We Follow The Restrictions If They Don’t?

There are so many more examples, including Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, whose husband was caught trying to get his boat in a marina against restrictions.

CNN talking head Chris Cuomo flaunted his own brother’s rules by breaking quarantine for a jog.

House Democrat leaders cancelled lavish indoor dinner plans after a public backlash.

It’s not even just America.

In the United Kingdom, an MP for the Scottish National Party, who had slammed Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s advisor for allegedly breaking lockdown rules and even called for him to resign, broke them herself by traveling on a train after testing positive!

You really have to ask yourself, if the people implementing these restrictions don’t give a toss about whether they follow them or not, why should any of us?
