New Poll: Majority Doesn’t Trust Biden On COVID
As President Joe Bidenâs approval rating continues to tumble, a new poll shows what could be his his worst trouble yet.
A new Axios/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday shows that a majority of Americans donât trust Biden and his administration to combat COVID-19.
Of those surveyed, 53% said they âdidnât have very much trustâ or âno trust at allâ that Biden would offer accurate information regarding the pandemic. 45% said they trust Biden, âa great dealâ or a âfair amount.â
As expected, the poll numbers also break down according to party. Of those polled, 81% of Democrats trust Biden, just 11% of Republicans, and 42% of Independents.Â
Overall, the trend is down. In January, 58% trusted Biden on COVID.

âWhatever Is Being Done Now It Would Be The Oppositeâ
Perhaps truer words have never been said. Those words came from Chris Jennings, former White House health policy advisor who also served on the Biden health care unity task force just days after the 2020 election.

Speaking about how Biden would handle the pandemic, he said, âThere will be a much more collaborative relationship with state and local governments. He will empower the agencies, not undermine and discredit them â but he will also hold them accountable for results.â
In the fall of 2020, then-candidate Joe Biden stumped at a drive-in rally in Iowa, and stated, âUnlike Donald Trump, we wonât surrender to this virus. Iâm going to put in place a plan to deal with this pandemic.â
He added, âIâm not going to shut down the economy,â Biden said Friday. âIâm going to shut down the virus.â
Since Joe Biden has been president, COVID cases have been on the rise in the U.S. And while more Americans are being vaccinated, more breakthrough cases emerge, and the need for booster shots have been recommended.

Biden Approval Numbers Sinking
Could it be that the American people are beginning to have buyerâs remorse? A report from The Daily Caller shows that the numbers may bear that out. A Gallup poll from last week says that Bidenâs approval rating has tanked, reaching just 43%.Â
His biggest loss is with Independents. The President has fallen with this group from 61% in January to 37%.Â
A report from Fox News seems to put it best: Joe Biden is âdrowningâ in crises.
But the myriad of crises seem to be of Bidenâs own making. Americans have seen the disastrous withdrawal of American troops in Afghanistan, and the Taliban taking over the country, a botched operation that saw 13 American servicemen killed in a terrorist attack.
The crisis at the U.S. southern border continues. Not only do thousands from Mexico and Central America continue to pour into the country, but also Haitians and others from all over the world.
As the economy is on shaky ground, Democrats want to pass the biggest spending and entitlement bill in American history. Republicans warn that it will increase inflation.Â

A Promise To Unify
In his inaugural speech, Joe Biden promised to unite the American people. That is also in question. A recent Fox News poll says that Americans are not feeling the unification. Of those polled, 54% think America is less unified under Joe Biden, 37% say it is more unified.
Even the always reliable media are having a hard time being cheerleaders for Joe Biden. Recently, NBCâs Chuck Todd was forced to admit, âWell, look, I think heâs got a pretty big credibility crisis on his hands because all of these problems in some ways showed up after he said something basically the exact opposite.â
Todd continued, âAnd of course, the border. We can talk about the border problems, you could say theyâre years in the making, but itâs pretty clear that we have a bigger problem now than weâve had in years, and these policies have turned it into becoming a magnet.âÂ
Plummeting job approval numbers for Joe Biden do not bode well for Democrats in 2022. According to a recent Civiqs poll, Biden is underwater in six 2020 battleground states by ten or more percentage points.
Biden approval ratings via Gallup:

June: 56% approve, 42% disapprove
