Trump Reemerges To Blast Mitch McConnell In Blistering Speech To Republicans
Former President Donald Trump ripped into Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) during a gathering on Saturday night, blasting him for not doing more to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump Calls McConnell A âDumb Son Of A B****â
While giving a speech to members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump reportedly called McConnell a âdumb son of a bitch,â according to The Washington Post.
Not stopping there, he also suggested Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) would have fought for Trump if they were in the same party.
âIf that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a bitch Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen. They would have fought it,â Trump said. âI hired his wife. Did he ever say thank you?â
Trump was referring to his nomination of Elaine Chao, who served as Transportation secretary in his administration and is married to McConnell.Â

âMitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,â Trump said at the time. âHe will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country.â
âWhere necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First,â he added. âWe want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership.â
