How Ride-Share Drivers Actually Make Money
The ride-share business has flipped the taxi industry industry on its head. Companies like Uber and Lyft are raking in billions of dollars in revenue by disrupting local markets, but drivers on the road have a different strategy to maximize profits – diversification.
Ride-hailing drivers are technically independent contractors, so they’re not tied to just one company. The more apps they’re on, the more money on the table.
Harry Campbell, a ride-hailing driver known as “The Rideshare Guy,” runs a blog to help drivers make the most of their business. And he recommends drivers sign up for at least two different apps.
“Once you learn the ropes, you should be driving for at a minimum both Uber and Lyft because you’re actually a business owner as a rideshare driver so it’s important to diversify your income,” Campbell said.
But juggling multiple ride-hailing platforms can be complicated. Fumbling between phones or apps to manage new rider requests while navigating the road isn’t always the most efficient, or safe, way to work.

Yeah, but the Uber and Lyft driver gets paid less than the taxi driver….But charge the rider significantly a lot more…. Uber and Lyft pay the driver 1/4 of the fare…..
music is to loud
I want my Car full of guys during my long ride.
Hello! I’m from india and I’m studying IT engineering i need some help about this project just because we’re having last year project based on their studies so i need some help and a good reference to make my project unique and good! Is there anybody who can help me out?
Only reason taxi medallions are so expensive is because cities refuse to license more taxis. It's a highly restricted supply that only large taxi companies can buy, and once they have them, they're never releasing them, they just lease them to the drivers, like a franchise. The whole thing is a scam. Not that uber is any better, with the average driver making less than minimum wage.
I dont feel sorry for taxies at all trying to get a cab as a black man and them just passing me up
Taxi drivers rip you off with the unclear rates. As opposed to Uber and Lyft. They tell you how much your trip is going to be, way before you even call for a ride. Thank God for Uber and Lyft.
Ok but that told me nothing about how they actually make the money…like the title? Of the video? Cmon.
AWESOME
COOL
Adapt or Go Extinct
I my town I called a Taxi and was told I would have to pay extra as it was night time., after 11 pm, I never used that company again.
They don't make money
I did the math and after gas, 55 cents depreciation per km. Insurance etc. If you don't want puke in your car it's basically $5/hr
As an Uber driver myself, I often hear my customers say how much they hate taxis. The most common complaints are; drivers have bad hygiene (smell), do not speak English, and charge 3 times the price of Uber.
Who ever payed million dollar for madaloion now they feel like idoits
An outdated service is being replaced by a better one.. Nothing new..
The next big drive share app will be built on EOS
Uber openly states that they will transition to 100% driverless cars in the future. If you work for uber you're helping them replace you. 😣
no sympathy for the cab drivers
The drivers average less than minimum wage. It's a scam
Do not let your kid get in to this instead long term investments
When they replace with robots and jobless with higher ages and no skills from education
Scams people to low wage and benefits ect for quick money
What’s up Harry!
No mention that neither Uber or Lyft are making a profit on the billions of revenue…
I don’t understand why can’t taxi driver just sign up for uber and lyft too. Then they would make all the money.
