• Please don't use copyrighted music! It's not about whether or not YouTube will "catch" you, it's about stealing from creators who spent time, energy, and passion on creating art (their music), and then aren't being compensated when someone else uses it to promote themselves and their content. Attributing music is not enough, unless you have agreed with it's author that attribution is all they want. If someone used your content without your permission and without compensating you (like in a mashup video or something), I imagine you would feel cheated and used. Don't do this to other artists, please! This comment isn't for Jen specifically, but for anyone who is thinking about using music or visual art that doesn't belong to them in something they are creating. In this instance, the laws surrounding copyright exist to protect artists, and not just to be a bummer. Remember, just because it's on the internet, doesn't mean you can use it.
  If you're a creative person, you may even have a friend who creates music who would be happy to collaborate with you, or you can find someone online. Otherwise, please stick to royalty-free music, or buy a license to the music you want to use.
