I have a channel and it’s been slowing growing over the past years.. I literally started to post videos of my new journey with collecting cards but now I’m getting more serious with it since I’ve been consistent.. I like the idea of Layering which is something I’ve been thinking about lately without that word in my head lol but I will be starting that in some way that I see fit for my channel. Thank You!!

I'm starting this week! If my 12-year-old nephew can have a monetized YouTube channel, then I can too! This video is exactly what I needed to see, especially the part about layering. I want to be able to talk about ALL the creative things I'm passionate about, especially about fashion and my hand-crafted wardrobe, reading and book collecting, maybe a little music, and then a smattering of gardening and art and decorating.

After producing 1 video in the pitch black so you could literally see nothing except the odd firework but definitely no ponies I never filmed anything else but decided to go for it this spring and this was so helpful! I hope you have a great day Erin, Definitely the layering thing is for me as I have really struggled with niching down as I do so many things and I really want to make content that my audience enjoy but that I enjoy too xxx

I really like your tips. I started my channel Bozeman health and fitness. Then I put clothes in there. It seems like if I don’t do a clothes video ,YouTube don’t really share my video out and this been going on for a while so what advice do you have?

Love that you mentioned “layer, not niche” … niching has never sat well with me from the beginning and it’s been a roadblock, tbh. 🥰
Practice resonated with me, I used to beat myself up for not being able to record a video in one take, which produced a cycle of me recording videos but not editing and then of course not posting…i wanted to start last year, but i had trouble with editing so i lowkey threw in the towel…but as someone that went to school for film and acting, (so I’d assume I’d be able to easily do these things) I’m humbled to be reminded, practice! Content creation is whole other gal, I have to put in the hours to study her… so the practice def! oh and I’m STARTING! Thanks Erin! Appreciate you and your wisdom.

Layering is a huge huge huge gem. I feel exactly what your saying lol. I am a day trader which is what my page is curated around and im noticing I dont feel like my audience truly knows me.. I love photography, automotive, but i've been worried about confusing my audience lol. Great video!
