Leica launches the SL3 – Professional Photo

The highly anticipated new addition to Leica’s celebrated SL-System, the SL3, has been unveiled, with a host of tantalising upgrades on its 2020 SL2S predecessor while the price remains the same as that for the SL2 at £5920. Aimed fair and square at the working professional, the fresh line-up of features found on the SL3 are all said to have been added in response to feedback from users, ensuring that everything on board is there for a purpose.

This, the fourth model in Leica’s range of full-frame L-Mount cameras, comes with a 60MP BSI CMOS sensor, a big step up from the 47MP offered by the SL2, 5-axis in-body image stabilisation rated at 5EV, an ISO range of 50-100,000 (native ISO 100), a hybrid phase/contrast detect autofocus, which includes eye/face/body and animal detect AF, a 5.76M dot OLED EVF with up to 120fps refresh, a 2.33M dot tilting rear touchscreen and 4fps 14-bit shooting with AF, 5fps in 12-bit mode, up to 15fps, 12-bit with focus and exposure locked at first frame.
