great video….question…is underlayment not needed for vinyl plank flooring?
I had problems after doing the first row and and the first piece from the second round. The problem was since you have lift one side for the plank go in place , which part you put in place first ?
If we use underlayment, I'm told that will help with any unevenness. Is this true?
"Be careful or wear gloves"
Funny video they are beginners
Thank you Sir
I removed old tile in my kitchen, my problem is the base boards were easy to reinstall, but I have a gap around the door jamâs.do I have to lower the molding around the door? But the molding on top doesnât look good around the top of the door. The molding around the door is recessed about 3/16â. I will loose the look of a nice door frame. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Kevin
Stupid inch scale, switch to metric !!
0:38 I find that large wire cutters work better than pliers for removing staples from plywood subfloors. If you don't squeeze too hard, then the wire cutters grab the staple instead of cutting through it.
This is very helpful đ
Shoulda painted that trim before the revealđœ
so hard to convert 47 5/8 to 47.625 for the calculator. so glad I use the metric system……mostly
First mistake is buying it! Its plastic, it will degrade and break down with age!
And hope it never caches on fire!
Why didnât you use the âfoamâ like instillation ?
How can you teach anyone when you made mistakes right off the top ? You amateurs should leave teaching to the pros ? Never use a tapping block! Never use a baseboard to cut carpet? Always screw the floor down when it has only been nailed. Butcher!!!
Quarter rounds on top of baseboards are đ€ź.
Beginners mistake
Pretty much everything you said is wrong. You should educate yourself before making a a video. CFI is a good educational program. there are also magazines highlighting floor covering techniques and tools. Pretty much everything you said and did in this video is incorrect
You look like beginners. I have 19 years of installing floors every day experience. You dont need a chop saw for vinyl plank. A speed square and a utility knife. You score and snap it. I cant believe people who aren't professional try and teach people the hard way to do it.
Succinct and clear. This is a very helpful video.
Me and my husband are going to try and install this in our basement over cement. You said you donât need to lay anything down under it. however if itâs on cement is it good to use something for warmth and moisture? Or just not lay anything?
I like the videos also a good one jobs but it's better if you grinder the plywood and make sure all the joints have the same level.God bless you
Don't you hate when people waste your time talking about their stupid dog.
Do you cut the sides off of the vinyl plank that are to the wall
This format is so confusing. Iâm half through and still donât get it.
First mistake? Buying plastic fake-wood flooring in the first place. Lipstick, meet pig. Itâs not wood and youâre not fooling anybody.
Awesome. Thank you
No foam underlayer?
if you would have measured your planks first to see where they would land you woulld not be ripping what you did apart.
Heres a thought, stop thinking the vinyl flooring is so great. Being paper thin of course having to take more time and care in the prep work. Adding floor leveler on a subflooring that continues to move even worse. Especially in high traffic area of the upper floors. I've been installing flooring since '98 and have a huge disliking to the shift of materials such as vinyl. A good laminate or hardwood is way more durable to wood subflooring. In a basement setting sure us this crap. All vinyl was introduced for was the commercial usage for higher traffic office space / showrooms. In the residential garbage đ

Love that one
Vinyl is cool đ

First mistake is buying vinyl click flooring. It should never have been invented.
Quick question. I'm sure my floors aren't level after the house settled. How long do you need to let the compound you put on to level it dry?
Doing floating snap flooring for the first time. I'm a contractor and the customer is fully aware this is my first time. I've done plenty of tile, and so far it's been a snap! (Horrible pun, I know) any diy people out there don't be intimidated, you got this. This video perfectly explains and goes over everything you need to know. I really wanted to let you know your video is extremely spot on, like always. I also wanted to let you and your subscribers know about a trim pulling tool from Goldblatt that a friend introduced me to that is far superior to the Trim Puller. I ordered it off Amazon for just over $20 US, and it's just amazing. Anybody buying a trim pulling tool, you've gotta try this one! I swear I'm not some Goldblatt troll, just love tools and wanted to drop a line and let anybody know it exists. Again, great video thanks for sharing the info. Have a great day everyone!
Pro tip – no ones floor is flat, but good stuff, try it in an actually old house
If your a good floor layer you wouldnât need to remove the skirts, you would use a knife with cove blade to cut.
Also, you would lay it in a
Hardboard/Masonite

I installed laminate flooring in my house last month and we did the whole thing in less than three days. Smaller place sure, but once we got the systems down and ironed out the flow it couldnât have been easier.
We sourced the laminate flooring for free from a person nearby who wanted it gone from their shed which saved us hundreds of dollars. Couldnât be happier
I LOVE THIS FLOORING! I had five dogs due to new marriage and cats. I had a dog door and lots of mud and dirt coming in. I did not install myself but had Lowes install. I had the first floor of the house totally covered with this, 1,500 sq. ft. I lived with this floor for 13 Yrs. Before downsizing. It still looked fabulous!
The people who bought the house loved it Too, because they had kids AND dogs!
Best decorating/practical decision Iâve ever made. Really takes a beating & EASY CARE!
If you use the quarter round , you're being lazy. If it's your house fine but if you're a contractor, you're a trash hack doing that unless you spoke about it with the customer beforehand.
Yeah I prefer the table saw for those skinny strips. Gold work, looked good!
My knees hurt thinking about walking on those non cushion planks. Some good advices
Hi , what is the glue or material are you using to filling the uneven areas ? Itâs a regular concrete? If is a concrete cement that will break down on pieces ?
Thanks
How do you gap the edges if you donât take baseboards off?
this was great
There is a life proof underlayment. I used it because of an older floor with sight defects.
