• I drove from MI to CA and back on a sort of Route 66 trip this past fall. I stayed at a number of truck stops including several Love's that had camping sites. I wish I could have planned my driving time better to reserve my site a few days ahead, but it was my first really long trip. Of all the truck stops I went through, Love's is by far the most accommodating. I always made sure I was respectful of the truck drivers (since the father of my children is one, and he might run me off the road if I wasn't…LOL) and I found that I felt very safe for the most part.

• I pulled into a gas station and asked the manager if she didn’t mind if I parked overnight put back and she said no problem. Then I went next door to a restaurant with. Bigger parking lot and asked the same question and he said no problem…then I ended up staying at an rv park which was in town and just closing so I caught them just in time. I got permission but I felt uncomfortable and if you feel it it’s time to leave.

• Your running with. $100,000+ truck/5th wheel and your cheaping out for your overnight’s, doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

• We got stuck at the Minute Man Missile Site, which was closed on a random Monday. There was no place to turn around, so we got stuck on a 1.5 car-wide dirt road for 2 miles. We finally disconnected the toad to back the RV up and turn around. What a hassle!

• If you join the Elks, you can camp over night or 2. go in have dinner, clean up. get a drink . Some Ejks have complete hook ups.Once your an Elks member, your a member at all the Elks. Its great.

• Many Walmarts in West Virginia (there aren't that many to begin with) have signs posted that they don't allow overnight parking of RV's. I was very surprised to see that after hearing so many people say that Walmart welcomes overnight parking of RVs. Seems that policies are in flux.

• I feel like I need to warn people that the west coast, California specifically, you are not allowed to stay overnight at any Walmart and you are only allowed to rest for 4 hours at a rest stop. Most big box stores don't allow overnight either. There is a large population of homeless and so this is what it has come to. I liked your video.

• Yes, often, Truck stops are over whelmed… I drove across the street and saw a Cracker Barrel with an entire back parking vacant. So, I parked the semi went in and asked. They said no problem. Very nice quiet stay. Didn't have to worry about safety.

• As for me, at truck stops, I always park the furthest away in the auto lot (if the truck stop does not have designated RV parking) to save spots for the professional truck drivers. Professional truck drivers have to follow stricter regulations under DOT and one of these regulations is they have to log their driving hours and they cannot exceed a certain amount of hours per day behind the wheel without so many hours of rest. The truck stops are one of the only places that is safe for them to rest at. Without the truck drivers, all grocery store shelves and shelves at other stores stay empty and the trucking industry keeps our economy going.

  The food you buy at restaurants and supermarkets and items you buy at the stores and the gasoline and diesel you fill your vehicles and motorhomes with all were shipped by and came off of trucks.

• Y’all are sooo cute and very smart. If you ever get to Bend, Or give us a call for a home cooked meal or dinner out.

• If you knew what security dealt with at casinos, you wouldn’t stay there…

• Fires are OK in the national forests but you must get a permit from a ranger station. It's free but you have to have water and a shovel, I believe, and know how to properly put out your fire. They will sometimes dig under your old fire and if they find hot coals, you can get an expensive ticket.
