When you’re looking for an RV that fits your travel style, there are many factors to consider. Some of these factors might include size, drivability, amenities and creature comforts.

Are you wondering if a class B RV is right for you?

Today we’re sharing five reasons you might want to avoid them.

Let’s dive in.

Hi, we’re the Bradys! We travel the country in our self-renovated 1979 Airstream Argosy. We hit the road in September of 2015 with the goal to live minimally, seek adventure and enjoy the freedom of RV life. We’ve learned a lot in those years and have used that experience to create informative content about the RV lifestyle. We strive to answer any and all questions you may have that will help you on your journey to RVing!

  • Van rvs rock..Class bs are cool.they dont take up alotta room and u can setup camp at walmart if u leave camp..ps i love your guys Airstream😁

  • I wouldn't want to leave my RV sitting unattended while I went sightseeing in a car or whatever. Nope

  • Everything you listed as problems are reasons we bought one. Plus quiet drive, good on gas, everything you need, can fit ANYwhere.

  • If you can afford an RV, the square foot cost is not a consideration. Storage doesn't matter with a Class B because you know what you have and minimize things you take with you. I did not agree with any of your five reasons not to have a Class B.

  • The purpose of the RV class B is to live a minimalistic life.

  • People suck. Getting away from everyone else, and enjoying peace, quiet, and privacy rocks, but it requires being able to drive on any terrain. If there's still any threats, that's what firearms are for.
When it's necessary to overnight somewhere in town, blending in is key. Class "A" motorhomes are big, heavy, cumbersome, and hard to maneuver, let alone park, unless they're in big open spaces. They're also impossible to miss and draw unwanted attention. Since they're big, heavy, have no clearance from the ground, and are only rear wheel driven, the second you drive off the pavement or concrete, they get stuck and then you need to get towed or pulled. So class "B" RVs are the best option for fun, convenience, economy, and discretion.

  • Class Bs suit my travel style because they are much more nimble than a trailer. Trailers are much more suited to camping long term. I tend to stay 1-4 days max at most sites. I also like that I can drive my class B into any city and park it.

  • What?? You couldn't get your surf board into overhead storage compartment?

  • 1. Leaving the bed down is a waste of space. 2. Unless you want to sleep in the bathroom….why does it need to be large? 3. Break down camp? The class B IS the camp and can be driven into town easily. 4. Storage? Ok Captain obvious….they are smaller duh! That is the POINT. 5. Yes, they are expensive…..and worth it.

  • I would love to have a camper van you can go anywhere with them you don't need a parked and pay.

  • You look for a small RV thinking it would be cheaper to find the price is higher than allot of the other options.

  • I was planning on getting talked out of it, but when I listened to the end… we'll I guess you can say I now have more reasons to look at the Class B's then before! So hard to be down on something so promising… thanks for trying to discourage us!

  • Class B and E bike. . . For those of us who want to go smaller but still get around once camp has been set up. Win-Win!
