  • IMO, the side valances are extraneous. Personally, I'd just remove them and leave only the top ones.

How do you flush out the black tank with the gray tank? I wouldn't have thought they'd be connected to each other, else why would there be separate tanks? (I don't have a rig yet; I'm just trying to learn in advance in case I can achieve that dream.)

  • You should listen to yourself making excuses for the company's shoddy construction. Its expected that stuff goes wrong with a new really expensive camper unit? Only by people who have been conditioned to be suckers.

  • The mfg is always leaving the cutouts from installing the toilet or sink connections. Also, sprues from inside the tank break off and jam the gate valves.

  • my brookstone 344fl has a front grey tank valve was frozen closed the first time i tried to drain it……it took a vise grips and a hammer to get it open…..and rear black tank is very hard to move also……can you do a video on zeroing the leveling system…..i have the touch pad also and cant find instruction on zeroing it

  • They throw them together so fast the quality control and poor engineering is something to be aware of! There should be backing everywhere you screw or bolt. You don’t pay large dollars to rebuild your RV! I have had three 5th wheel trailers. The best one so far is the first. It was a Keystone Big Sky. Lived in it at a KOA in Sheridan, WY for 2-1/2” years. Through 2-winters with temperatures blow 25 degrees.
Since then, the last two different makes not good. Quality control sucks today. I have had to reattach curtain, reinstall door hinges put on wrong, doors that didn’t line up with opening, heater switch issues, and many other issues I shouldn’t have had to deal with.
IT IS WHAT IT IS, MANUFACTURES DON’T GIVE A DAM, just get your check IS THEIR MOTTO!!
If there is a 41’ 5th wheel out there with no problems, please let me know the make and manufacture??

  • At 8:15 looks like the slide or rear is in contact with one of the utility boxes. 10:13 shows the gap 👌 close one. Love the rig and truck 🛻 awesome channel too! I can appreciate your no nonsense advice and willingness to teach folks. Excellent work sir! 😎

  • As always your video’s are by far the best of all. Since your experience and delivery is so superior I was hoping one day you will do an extensive video of how to work your new fifth wheel. I would have never known about using grey water to flush black water. Now I’ve never owned a TT or fifth wheel but I will. It would be awesome to have 1 video or two consecutive ones with what you should do, what you should buy and how to. Or maybe a class. I’d fly out to wherever and pay for a class and I’ll bet others would as well.

  • It's a bummer RVs are built so cheaply. For the price of that 5th wheel it should have higher quality and more durable valves, faucets, switches. Your water bay looks like something I would expect to see in a cheap trailer or pop-up. I would anticipate seeing regular maintenance issues with that brand.

  • Curious, why you have that cheapo water filter when you have used the Clear Source filtration system setup? Which park is that in Victoria? Curious since I was born and raised in Port Lavaca but all my immediate family now live in Victoria.

  • I don't think it's a good thing you're having these small issues, but I do believe it will show people that not every RV is perfect. Even, like you you said, a RV made for a YouTube channel in collaboration with the manufacturer. It shows that you weren't given any special priority over a regular buyer.

  • We just took our new Keystone Springdale 202QB out for it's shakedown voyage. Only issue was one sticky sliding window. And remembering that the Water Heater switches were labeled Gas Heater and Electric Heater, no mention of "Water". First time to use tanks and drains, Not too bad. No issues in the bedroom, either.

Went to Calico Regional Park, in the middle of the week, to avoid the weekend off-roading crowds. In the Mojave Desert a few miles east of beautiful Barstow, CA. Winds in the mid 20's gusting to the mid-40s. Some minimal movement and noise but we easily slept through. Some of the Overlanders weren't able to deploy their tents

  • JD – Are you taking the Blink cameras down when you travel or are they secure enough in their mounts; did you use the mounts that were included with the Blink cameras?. What internet connection is available inside your unit; are you using a factory installed one or did you place a different box in the unit? Thank you sir.

  • Won't the dining table slide sideways if you unlock it underneath

  • RV problems are forever presenting themselves, new or old. Sorry to learn of the grey tank pull valve failure. I know you love that pullout tray in your basement garage, but I've always felt they take up too much usable space in trade for the minor slide out convenience. If it were not there, you could probably pull off that access panel right next to it and address the pull valve issue pretty easily. Seems like a clip may have slipped out of place or fallen off the pull rod. Your service guy will most likely need to remove the pull out tray. No fun for him. Happy travels.

  • This thing is turning out to be a nightmare. I wish you good luck.

  • You should always put your pressure regulator at the faucet, then filter, then hose to the RV. You could blow a hose if pressure goes hi for some reason and you're contaminating your drinking water hose with crap from the park system. Put your hose ends together when breaking down to keep the hose clean, use a separate hose for flushing out tanks. I recommend a quality adjustable pressure regulator, the fixed regulators are mostly junk and will over restrict flow.

  • Hopefully you retracted your slides before you re-zero'd your your landing gear

  • Went to pickup my brand new 398 today and found the slide out awning-topper brackets where they attach to the slide out where pulled out on three slides. Screws to small or to short or to much spring tension. They were factory installed. I drove 5 hours one way but I told the sales man no way I’m buying it. The walls were damaged around brackets. Found many other issues as well, but that did me in!

  • Something you might check into is window tint. My husband went to Lowe's and pick up some in their window area. He installed it on our window and now we don't have sunlight bleeding around the shade. Hope this helps.

  • We are full time RVers and we spent two weeks down on Magnolia Beach. It was very nice. We also liked the Corps of Engineers’ campgrounds outside of Waco. Check those out if you have not been, they are great and have huge sites that are not close to the neighbors.

  • It doesn't matter. 30 years old or 3 months old. RV's will ALWAYS have problems.

  • Brand new machine, full of problems. Ridiculous. Any other product, you would return or expect better.

  • We kept having a similar issues with our valves so we invested in electric valves from Drainmaster. We got got dual switches so we could operate from the wet bay or from inside the rv. Best investment ever!! A push of a button from the inside or outside and the tanks empty. No more having to go out on a rainy or cold day to pull the Valve to empty. All my future rv’s will have this from now on.

  • The hose against the generator pipe is odd. How hot would that pipe get if you were running of the gen?

  • You point out each valance with screws loose, rather just say all came loose. Then you start to tell what they should have done, but didn’t use forethought and had no answer. I would take those off. Didn’t get much frim your vid.
