The solar eclipse is passed and our time with our friends has come to a close. It’s off to our next destination, the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. Our friends recommended that we go to The Garden of the Gods just 7 miles from our site to see the gorgeous lookouts and sandstone formations. Being in the Garden of the Gods Wilderness we saw many creatures while exploring the various rock formations making us feel utter immersed in the beauty that surrounded us.
