  • For the same about of money you can just pick up a 3-point hitch carry-all frame at TSC or elsewhere. It would be rated at 1000 lbs, and snap right onto your quick hitch. You can then mount whatever type and size of platform you want on it. A piece of plywood, treated deck boards, or steel if you want. You can even and sides if you want. and make a box out of it. I've even seen guys bolt or weld a section of rectangular steel tubing across the back, and mount a receiver hitch on that. Then they don't even have to remove the carry-all to tow a trailer.

  • Know what else would work really great with that chore? Yea, pallet forks!!πŸ˜πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

  • Have you done a full review on the tractor yet? I’d like to know how the bad boy is holding up so far

  • That’s nice, but one of my best things was a set of pallet forks for both front and back plus on your dual receiving hitch you can do like did for my dad on his so he could load a lil handicap scooter on one similar to your basket. What I did was added another piece of 2×2 tubing and then put another receiver portion underneath it so that it would be low enough for the scooter to run up on

  • Hello, I always wonder, why front loaders with (mechanical) parallel guidance seem to be unknown in th US. In Germany they are unmarketable and I am glad to use it. πŸ˜‰ Is it really unknown or is there any other reason?

  • JD, Glad you found GWT, Courtney does master work on his channel. I watch both, I placed an order for an F350 dually 7.3L gasser based on your channel and our RV towing needs. GWT narrowed down my tractor needs for a 12.5 acre property in ND, lots to learn for a pecker head airline pilot.

  • Your tractor dealer should have some rear wheel weights that are bolted on where the rear rims bolt on the hubs. Also I have heard of filling your rear tires with liquid lead.

  • Could you put that in east to west to be able to use the Pinole with it instead of north, south?

  • Just curious? How many bullet holes have you found in those fake deer?

  • Not a tractor owner (yet) but definitely glad to see you taking ballast seriously. Your back tires may not be "coming off the ground" but it could be making that backend very light. Definitely get some beet juice in the back tires that way you can use this setup for utility, like carrying tools and such.

  • It looks like the receiver hooked to the three point is the step up from a 2inch receiver and might just need the adapter sleeve. Either way your fix works great and shows the great utility of tractors, tools, implements.

  • Unless I missed it, you go to great lengths to describe the limits of the components added but I missed you mentioning the limits of the tractor itself.

  • All that wood would have fir in the bucket so what’s the point? πŸ€”Just one more gadget for you to Jack with it would seem. 😜

  • The ballast on the back of smaller tractors, such as yours (I have a similar size Mahindra), is not so much to keep the rear tires on the ground, but more to help evenly distribute/transfer the weight in the bucket across the length of the frame. This helps reduce the stress on the front axle/4WD. Otherwise the front axle becomes basically like a fulcrum and has a disproportionate amount of stress on it. For me, the extra weight from the rear ballast also helps incredibly with traction in the winter… as when I get a load of heavy wet snow in the bucket the rear tires slip much easier. I'd mention putting fluid in the rear tires as an option, but others have already commented on it. I prefer not to do that just because in the summer I use a finish mower deck on the tractor to mow my yard… and it can leave minor ruts as it is when the ground is soft!

  • You can get a thin bushing to eliminate the slop at the top hook of your quick hitch at Rural King, Tractor Supply…etc.

  • This is a simple way to move items, the olny issue i see is that you can't have it too high without strapping stuff down. Titan makes a dump bed that fits on your quick hitch. comes in a manual dump or hydraulic dump if you have the rear remotes on your tractor. It also doesnt wobble around like this does, plus it has sides on it. Might be a better all around "aux bed" for the tractor.

  • You may not need ballast for just using the bucket, but if you lift stuff using chains on the bucket near the max lifting capacity, then you will need ballast. Speaking of, getting some chain hooks welded to the top lip of your bucket would be super handy.

  • I bet that the guy that came up with the stabilizer was a plumber. It looks an awful lot like a window clamp.

  • fill your tires with fluid for ballast so you can keep your carry basket for tools

  • Always used our tractors for multiple uses. We'd a 6 inch pipe on the bucket of one of them to go over our pump houses to lift the intake lines for repair. Stay safe.

  • You could go to a plumbing supply Company and get 300 lb. of lead. Use it as ballist.

  • Like the Hitch stabilizer piece. I use one myself.

  • That duel hitch receiver can hold a hell of a lot more than 400 lbs. First off there's a safety factor. That 400lbs is a percentage of the failure point. Unfortunately there's no standard for what that percentage is. Also, that 400 pb rating is factoring in being on the back of a vehicle traveling at highway speeds hitting expected highway bump and transitions. So traveling around at 9mph on a tractor is a lot less force than highway pothole hits. However there's nothing wrong with sticking to the sticker spec to be sure.

  • I was just getting ready to comment about Courtney at Good Works tractors. I’m glad you found him. He has so much great content.

  • I think we should start calling you the Wilson Wilson of YouTube! 😜

Keep up the good work. The ranch is awesome!

  • Leave it to an engineer to over-explain itπŸ˜‚πŸ€£

  • We've used a set of forks (hay skids like a forklift) on the back of our Case tractor for years. Usually we mount a pallet for carrying smaller stuff or we store heavier items on a pallet to pick up with the tractor.

  • Really fail to see the point in this video…people need more items that do not require manual adjustments to get things to work. I like your channel but fail to see this…
