Black Bear Encounters, Travel Days, and Other Full Time RV Challenges
Imagine your wife waking you up from a dead sleep screaming “THERES A BEAR ON THE TRUCK!” Whelp, that’s exactly what happened and sure enough there was a bear, not 30 feet from our RV, tearing into our truck.

Full time RVing has been a lot of fun and very liberating. However it does come with some unique challenges, like bears tearing apart your truck! We are finally leaving Vermont after a three week stay in the Green Mountain National Forest, so it’s time to face another big challenge with full time RVing – travel days. Breaking down camp, securing everything, making sure nothing is forgotten, planning the route, finding new camp sites, and making the half day long trip – these all come together to make travel days quite stressful. But we’re on our way to New Hampshire and we are excited for the new adventures the White Mountain National Forest has to offer!

Thank you for supporting the channel ♥ If we've done our jobs we've inspired someone to chase their dreams!
Butters translation: “the truck smells like bear!”
“There’s a bear ON the truck!” 😂That will wake you up instantly! 🐻
Everything is a pain in the A___s in the North East. You'll have better luck when you head west.
It was yogi
Love the videos and following your past journeys. I've seen in your videos that it looks like the camper is tilted to the rear more than level. Is that the camera angles or is that the best position? We are getting the 2019 version of your trailer and wanted to know if it should be level or not. Thanks!
You can get some kind book I heard that ill give out info on gas stations and if they have diesel
After being on the road for over a year, I'm sure you have gotten the hang of finding water, but I saw on another RV channel about getting free water at truck stop type gas stations. You can get diesel and free water in the process.
Hi from the UK, Slowly working my way through your videos, they are excellent. love the coffee making gizmo, where did you get it?
Just curious if you have calculated your fuel mileage and Also how many miles your truck has on it now and when you started RVING ?
Am sorry to hear tho
I was up there last summer and the bear has been nicknamed BooBoo the Cooler Killer, lol.
Black bear advice only: (BTW, Black bears can be brown, cinnamon, tan, or black!)
1) Banging pots and pans together while yelling will do the trick,
2) Throw rocks, sticks, pots, pans, anything at them. You will NOT hurt them. They NEED to be afraid of humans for your and their safety, otherwise, they become nucence bears and have to be relocated or worse,
3) Never turn your back to a bear,
4) Never run away. If they don't run, back away slowly,
5) Wave arms to look big, the more people doing so the better,
6) When hiking, make lots of noise so you don't startle a bear,
7) Always carry bear spray,
8) Never go near a bear with cubs!
Pull off an exit ramp drive through a neighborhood see someone outside and ask for water. Just got to be a little more adventurous. Still catching up on your videos.
Your dog was bread to go after bears. Should of let her out.
With no cell service, how does the Mrs. get on the computer for her work?
cup of ROCKET FUEL
Hi there can you let us know where the boondocking spot is in New Hampshire?
Finding water shouldn't be that hard to do. Try RV parks, Camping areas that charge for a spot, gas stations, Wallmart and Fire houses.
Look up truck stops for diesel ….(sign up for all the store discount cards if available) you may also check the credit/debit cards you use for rewards…be safe!
Bear spray! Send Sweetie after him! (Joking)
You guys are my new favorits, thanks for being you.
Leave the cover opened…
Close windows all the way.
If they can get there toes in the window they can break it out MUCH EASIER.
Lucky it didn't get IN the truck.
Our first of many camping/fishing trips to Yellowstone, years ago, the wife left our brand new empty cooler next to the camper when we left for a day of sight seeing. When we returned, the cooler was gone. Note on the door required us to repot to the ranger station. First thing he said, Yogy liked baskets, our bears like coolers. Couple minute lecture on being bear aware when in the parks. Informed us when a bear starts visiting camp sites, they have to put them down. No fines for us, but lady down the road received a hundred dollar fine. her cooler was full.
You should use Gas Buddy to find diesel stations near your location.
I've solo kayak camped and hiked all around the Grout pond area, a real nice area, but no bears in my camp…that I know of…just coyotes…solo camping in Maine in a previous yr I had a bear smelling my head through my tent wall off an on for 5 hrs of the night, its nose poking under my rain fly, I just talked to him and made some bear noises. he knocked my stove around a bit and even laid down behind my tent for awhile. awesome trip.
Lately I've been looking into the RV lifestyle. Good luck in your travels.
Did your dog alert or bark? Maybe I️ missed that part
Where in Vermont did you camp? Looks wonderful,
Do ya have a good distribution hitch?
Those northern relatives, what can I say, sorry.
Hey guys, to maybe alleviate your water problems go to a tractor supply or a farm supply store and check out the 50 gallon sprayer tanks they will sit in the bed of your truck and you can attach a hose adapter to it and gravity feed into your holding tank on your trailer
Yes in no time at all you will be a pro. Someday when you have time and are in a fairly open area just practice backing in a little so you get a feel for it before you are in a situation where you have to back in and it might be a little tighter.
Wow, crazy how that bear came back again. Guess it just shows how you have to keep on your toes all the time out there in the wilds. Luckily, that is all the damage done. David, quick question. I don't have an RV so this may be a stupid question. When getting to a new site, why not back the trailer in if possible so it is easier to pull out when leaving or if it rains. If it were backed in that time you got stuck there for a few days you might have been able to make it out instead. I am thinking it might have something to do with where the awning is but not certain. Just curious as I used to pull trailers a lot and always made sure I had the easiest way out in case others parked too close or whatever. Take care and stay safe, cool and healthy.
