I show you step by step how I installed a Nature’s Head composting toilet in our RV. This was an excellent upgrade allowing us to combine our black and gray tanks into one giant gray tank.

A composting toilet seems like the perfect compliment for our RV dry camping / boondocking setup. Since we now have no need for a black tank, it allows us to combine our gray and black tanks to make one gigantic gray tank. The composting toilet also uses now water so the water in our fresh water tank will last longer. These both allow us to stay on site longer since we won’t have to dump our holding tanks or fill our fresh water tank as often. We also won’t have to deal with the sewage or chemical treatments that go along with having a black tank. A composting toilet for us is a win-win-win!
