Thanks for the tips, folks!
I am NOT dealing with leveling blocks when I need to break camp and go into town for a Snickers!
Tip: Park on flat concrete – install a small stick on RV level on your dash for side to side – and another one on your drivers' door for front to back. Once you are camping, find a reasonable spot where you have a good front to back for sleeping by eyeballing the campsite, and looking at the one on the door, then move forward and backwards in little bits till you can find a good side to side level watching the one on your dash. This means you don't have to move from the drivers seat to level, and you won't need leveling blocks 90% of the time.
If I ever get a RV or camper van I would probably be traveling alone and in this video example it was teamwork to back up onto those little itty bitty blocks. I guess I gotta find a way to back up on those blocks all by myself.
Fortunately our van came with air rides, so leveling front to back can be done with them, but we carry blocks for side to side.
Good informative video. Keep them coming..Be safe out there.
I thought leveling is Only for trailer or tear drop.
Thx for the info
you should do a episode on your generators
Just Drill some holes to rid of water.
I use Anderson leveling system. So much quicker. They may be a little bigger but I can level it up in just a couple of minutes. Blocks are time consuming and not as adjustable.
We have those same leveling blocks, and I’m going to drill holes in them today… nice tip!
IF YOU ARE ON A HILL MAYBE! LOVE THE VIDEO KIDS!👍😍TAKES UP SPACE..ID CARRY THEM ANYWAY..I GUESS JUST IN CASE!🤷♂️
I have similar blocks but not used them yet, do you ever use wheel chock blocks.? On another subject I noticed the camera mounted behind and above the drivers seat, is this a security camera and if so how are you connected when not in the van? Jet pack or alternative?
Another great video
👍👍
Irene called and she wants her blocks back!
What do you store on the roof?
What was really funny and kind of cute when we picked up our class a 40 foot rig my wife went to the parts store and came back with a carrying case with the leveling blocks in it and said this is my gift for the RV. We crushed them with the weight of our 38,000 pounds. Thomyt
Been using the cheap leveling block sets for years. Bit of a pain but effective and cheap. There was an option to get the powered leveling jacks when we ordered our AS GT but we passed because of cost, weight and added complexity on a already complex machine. I bought another leveling block set. Now I’m wondering did I get the ones with the drain holes? Doh!
Just drill a few holes in each..
Hi, I’m all caught up now, next video please 😁😁😁.
A couple of questions if I may:
Who the heck is Irene?
Have you considered building out a van yourself, tailoring it to your requirements?
I’d love to see a breakdown of maintenance you have required over the last couple of years, scheduled and unexpected and costs. Perhaps a topic for a confessions video 🤓.
Cheers.
Good job on the Video… I am in a Roadtrek and do not use blocks because of storage space. Like your first year I just adjust position and always get it close enough. I like the bubble level and will likely order one. A quick check front to rear for me is if the slider stays where i open it to … rather than sliding back closed or more open.
Hello guys! Thank you for the great information. Your video answered my question about the need forand the importance of leveling our van. My wife, Diana, saw my name which you posted on the video, now Diana wants to know who is Irene?
Your videos are so much fun to watch! I have seen almost all your videos but up until this one I've never noticed you had dual tires in the back. Comes in handy if one would go flat. Looking forward to your next video.
Hey Aaron , My wife and I just ordered a Lexor from pleasure-way , do you think its possible to add storage to the roof ?
we love your videos , Thanks
Thank you for sharing another great information on the leveling blocks . The holes good point .
BS &BK
What rug have you found is best as far as drying after rain, mud, yuck? Thx
I haven't picked up blocks for my 21'GT but I think the one thing I've learned is that there's very little you "need" for your RV. The super basics like soap, toilet paper, gloves, and some tank cleaner are super critical but beyond that, most things are a "nice to have" and can be acquired as they become pain points as you guys did. Happy travels 🙂
Good job Irene.
So seeing your trunk, the obvious question is what's the junk in your trunk?
Or Lets see your everyday carry.
What paws do you have on the Interstate? They look aggressive !
I didn't know that your van had six wheels.
we use the Thule levellers. It's a ramp style leveller.
you need level mate pro
I just use the iPhone measure/level app and Camco blocks
I always carry the blocks but I've seen others just put a rock under the tire. When I get my Ascent I may try that and see if it actually works. I'm thinking not every site has a rock handy. :). Oh… and I use the bubble level all the time.
I use the Camco stackable with the T-handle. Store them in the empty battery spot under the hood. Many MB sprinter owners do this.
Very useful information. I will remember that when my Interstate 24GT arrives.
Actually I needed that info 🙂 maybe don’t need the hydraulic jacks ( extra weigh)
Got ya! 😳
