FIRST MONTH of RV LIFE (RV NEWBIES / FULL TIME RV LIVING)

Our first full month of full time RV living (RVing 1 Month Review). We share the good, the bad and some of the costs and money spent as Full Time RVers. We are total RV Newbies and we love our new Motorhome (2020 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36 LA). So far Full Time RV Life is living up to all the hype and our own expectations. Links below for more info and to some of our other awesome videos. Thanks!

Check out our Amazon Shop (link below) for some of our favorite things including items for our RV and Full Time RV Life. We also list the GEAR we use for our YouTube Channel.

Here is a direct link ( https://amzn.to/2Foubfh ) to the Garmin RV 785 that we use. A lot of you have asked about it in the comments below so we wanted to share this with you now and then we will do a follow-up review video in the near future. It is pretty cool and has a lot of great features. It can be programmed for your exact RV (height, weight, etc.) and/or used in regular car GPS mode. We wish we would have got one of these sooner and will be getting a second one for Tiffany’s chase car so we can make sure we are following the same route and directions during all our travels. I put the Garmin GPS and the Garmin Portable Friction Mount and a bunch of other stuff that we use in our RV Diem Amazon Shop at https://www.amazon.com/shop/rvdiem (We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon. com and affiliated sites.)

After 25 years of marriage and becoming empty nesters, we’re getting ready to embark on our biggest and maybe craziest adventure ever.

Our goal is to build a positive community of people who are passionate about living the life you have always imagined.

Quote from Dead Poets Society (Robin Williams as Professor Keating)

“Because we’re food for worms, lads! Because we’re only going to experience a limited number of springs, summers, and falls. One day, hard as it is to believe, each and every one of us is going to stop breathing, turn cold, and die!

Carpe…Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”

We invite you to join us on this adventure and would be honored if you subscribed to our YouTube channel and follow us on social media.

We don’t know what we are doing… but, we are going to do it anyway… and, we are going to do it together!

RV Diem – SEAS THE DAY!

Be careful running your propane furnace as a primary source of heat. It is a 'moist' type of heat and after awhile you with notice condensation buildup on your windows. And remember that water and rv's are not friends. Use a secondary source of heat such as a ceramic heater, if you're plugged in or run your fireplace with the fan going or other 'dry' sources of heat. Usually means a ' plug in' type of heat.

When you're ready to travel a little less, look into camp hosting. We did this for 5 months while selling a house and loved it. Free rent and utilities so the only utilities we had to pay were cell phone and propane. The work was 30 hours a week total between the two of us. The state park we were in didn't have their hosts do any nasty work, so while we mopped the restroom if there was a mess they had us call a ranger in to take care of it. Or if there was a party at the cabins with vomit everywhere the next day they again had a ranger take care of it. But the big plus was the free rent and electric and waking up in the state park and waving at the deer on may way to work every morning. So, if you feel like a month or two in one place and aren't against a little work, consider camp hosting. I liked the state park, but some of the private parks actually pay on top of the free space.

Just found you and thank you!! Love your enthusiasm, and we are in such a similar situation it’s uncanny. We are about 18 months away from being where you are (we have to move continents, which brings the added problem of checking out rv’s in person, as they don’t have big ones here in UK!) but this is so helpful. You are so loving, and also have an old dog. I was impressed by the high quality of your YouTube. What equipment do you use? It’s crystal clear and you both have lovely voices. Thank you!

I think you really did it right with your RV, you looked at a ton of rigs, you were patient and got exactly what you wanted! So many people (myself included, LOL) get caught up in the excitement and impulse purchase! We know a couple that have been full timers for the past 16 years and they burned thru there first Class A and they have a Tiffin now and they say hands down it’s the best rig for full timers, well built product! Glad to hear you guys have had a good first month! Thanks for sharing the "numbers"! 😎👍🏼

If you went down 301 through Florida you passed up a whole lot of great National Forest and State Park campgrounds. They can be well worth it and much cheaper than KOA.

We did the same on spending for the in dash gps but moved to the garmin rv before the tablet came out. I don’t think our Garmin will disappoint so will be a few years before we upgrade to the Tablet. The in dash looks nice but money could have been saved.

38 1/2' RV equals 308 square feet 😂. Nice update you two….one of these days we'll get you out west. We've always said our biggest budget buster is eating out….and we don't eat out much any more. We do pay tax on our Verizon Prepaid Unlimited….maybe it happened when you domiciled in Florida 🤔. The desert is really fun and will miss you at Quartzsite 😉….we're going to have a lot of great people out here 😎. Keep the rubber on the road and we'll see you guys soon!

Great video. It’s great to hear that you are thoroughly enjoying the simpler life. I am loving my TT membership. Check into city and county parks as well. I have stayed at several and absolutely love them. The ones i have stayed at have S/W and a dump station. The prices range from 16 -21 dollars.

What kind of traveling Internet do you use? My husband works pipeline and I am getting ready to travel with him full time, starting this summer. I am looking to teach English online and need an internet that will work while on the road. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with your budgeting as many other channels. Did The RV magically appear? You have to add in an RV payment to that $43/night or Depreciation at the least. I find it misleading to the point of Selling dreams to dreamers. I get it, it will vary by what you buy, but you went and bought a brand new 100-150K Tiffin with no mention of cost

Very cool! Glad you guys made it through the first month and still seem to be in love, 😂😂. Would have expected more for gas money. Are you using one of those discount cards people talk about for gas? I forget what they are called.

So happy to see you doing well. I've been on the road since late Sept., also working 32 hrs a week and also wintering now in FL. You've got my dream rig though, congrats on that. I'm in Avon Park for a few weeks and then headed to the keys on the 25th and really looking forward to that. Enjoy your adventures!!!

OMGOSH how fun. Good first month. You should strongly consider Harvest Host's, many of your other YouTube friends should have a discount code for them. Free overnight boondocking at places like farms, wineries, distilleries, golf courses, & museums. Super cheap, I think under $50. per year. Best wishes & safe travels from the Wiener Wagon tribe.
