RVers and generators that run off propane go hand in hand. An RV always has propane on hand so why carry around a can of gas if you don’t need to? Unfortunately, Honda does not offer a dual fuel inverter generator. So for us Honda lovers, the only option is to take matters in to our own hands and install a propane conversion kit.
The Tri-fuel Conversion Kit through Hutch Mountain is by far the best propane conversion kit available for the EU2200i and EU2000i models. It is OEM quality, easy to install, and allows simple switching between gasoline and propane.

What kind of mileage do you get on propane vs gas? I wonder how many hours that generator would run on a 20 pound bottle of propane and how that cost compares to running it on gas?

Great instructional video! I'm going to pick up my first generator today. I love that propane can power it, so I'll definitely buy the Hutch Mtn conversion kit. Do you have any idea how long gas vs. propane lasts?

I just did this mod to my Eu2200i and referenced this video more than the printed instructions that Hutch sent – it was straight forward. There was a delay in getting my kit as evidently Hutch is having trouble getting regulator parts and the elbow was different than pictured in video, mine is gold and was a little squirrelly screwing together.

are you still able to use the eco mode switch when running on lpg as from my understanding the eco mode is for the carb when running on gasoline ?

So does the LP gas have any throttle control? I just see an open line after the regulator that dumps the LP gas in am I wrong?

Isn’t it dangerous? If the generator shuts off for any reason the propane keeps running? I didn’t see any shut off like the carb has to stop gas if it shuts down. Don’t they shut down on overload or low oil? I would hate to have all that propane flowing back out of the air cleaner around the engine then to where ever the generator is.

I have two of the same model generators. Is there anyway to connect both units to one propane tank and run them simultaneously?

Bought one of these generators and the separate conversion kit 3 months ago….we lost power 1month ago for 2 days….I went out to the garage, and the generator started on the second pull, and I ran it continuously for the 2 days, saving all the food in the refrigerators……PHENOMENAL….can’t sat enough great things about the LP conversion kit, and generator…

There are several pros and cons using propane vs gasoline. I think my main concern would be the availability of propane in an extended situation, plus the storage issue. I would think the oil stays cleaner longer with propane too, plus probably easier to start vs. gasoline. Anyway thanks for the very informative video and bless you for not using some gawd-awful music, robo-voice or 10 minute lead in, lol.

Great video. I would be using Natural Gas. Is it the same install minus the regulator? I have a quick connect feed for my grill that I would use for the generator.

Many RVs have a propane outlet on their side for outdoor barbecue. If the Honda 2200 is plugged into this outlet do I still need a regulator?

I'm interested in how well the valves/valve seats hold up to the extra heat from the propane. Will it kill the exhaust valve seal faster? hmmm. BTW, you should be able to easily back the studs out of the engine to give them more bite

I would have love seeing comparison time consumption between 1 full gas tank fully electric loaded vs 1 full 20lbs propane tank. The instructions video was crystal clear even if i don't own that generator 🙂

So any details on how much gasoline is burned per hour vs how much propane is used? How long does that propane bottle last?

Propane is also more expensive to run. Not totally sold on the efficiency, is it miniscule? Maybe, would like to see some tests

Great instructional video. I have a large 5th wheel and I'm considering getting a Westinghouse dual fuel generator. Why did you switch from a Westinghouse generator?
