Funny how professional salesmen acting like they are jumping off the lot… Fact: As the economy drops, the RV industry will tank… Always has, always will…

I work at Sierra Engineering in Tollhouse, CA. We are still manufacturing RV parts like fender skirts, bath tubs/shower pans, bumpers, and more. Stay safe!

So the economy is tanking, millions of people are losing their jobs, state and national parks are closed, travel restrictions are imminent and it's a "sellers market" in the RV industry? C'mon guys!

I’m curious about the future of traveling around the country in RV’s after this outbreak. My small town like other’s around the country and the world have limited medical resources for its locals. They are closing their borders to strangers traveling through or wanting to stay in or near their town or State. As of 3/29/20 Many RV’ers currently don’t have a place to land. I was going to buy a RV, not so much now. I question the future of large RV sales. IMHO

Surprised that Sunshine RV is delivering across state lines.

What part of Essential Business does this fit into?

Oregon closed down all public and private campgrounds. RV parks remain open because some have permanent residents. Dispersed camping on BLM and Forest Service is allowed. Hotels are closed, as are Airbnb and other rentals in some areas.

I am hunkered down in my RV in the Texas Hill Country and couldn't ask for a better experience. We are able to get out and take a walk through the LBJ National Park or along the Pedernales River that runs in front of the ranch and park road 1. I can watch the deer early every morning. Outside of needing to make a grocery store run every thing has gone wonderful. Most businesses have been ordered to close in Fredericksburg and Johnson City but the grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics, restaurants that can offer pick up and go. So it has been really nice to be able to get some of the projects done.

Just for everyone's information all the manufacturers shut down Monday in Indiana. And how it hurts is hurts the people that actually deliver these units to the dealerships and many dealerships are shutting down

Excellent podcast! It’s great to know what impact the lockdowns etc. are having on RV lifestyle. I’m a recently retired civil servant as of Dec 2019 and was planning on some travel in my 2019 Unity CB when all of this hit. I’m hunkered down in Orange County, CA. My spouse is still going into work (IT Mobile devices). Other than some grocery shopping and some supply runs, we’re hunkered down at our home base. Hoping you and Jen are safe and snug. God bless!

Thank you so much for keeping us updated. As our pastor said Sunday, what we don't need is "social distancing'. What we do need is "physical distancing". We need to keep in touch and check on each other and provide comfort for each other. That is exactly what the 3 of you are doing. So, me and my wife and dogs say thank you!

You can bug out in an RV, maybe that's why some people are buying. I'm worried what will happen in Florida. Please stay put and stay safe.

Hi Mike! Very timely topic. We were planning on driving our RV down to FL around April 2 for a week. Do you suggest we cancel our trip? I know FL State Parks are closed, not sure about private campgrounds. We are also members of Harvest Hosts… not sure of any of those are open in FL either.

I like postponed instead of canceled. I can’t believe people are buying RVs and traveling. Everyone should stay home if they can. Florida was part of that push to make it essential business. Thank you for talking about us full timers. It’s hard to find a long term place that is safe. I am for blocking weekenders and vacationers. They need to stay home. Thousand Trails pretends to help. But read carefully. Thanks for bringing this info. (RV DMC) Alice

I build RV's in Elkhart, IN. Almost all the manufacturers shut down this week for 2-3 weeks. Getting parts is becoming very problematic anyway.

At the end of the month I have a couple of days between Airbnb’s… got two of them in the same city for the month of April.. after that, it’s God’s grace and my campervan. I’m in the Northern states, so Spring is just around the corner.

I always like the economy to run smoothly and this pandemic is disrupting. Maybe I can find a better deal as a result of all this but the rv industry should be said to include RV parks. Good attempt at reporting.

    Hi Mike, hello Dean.
I agree – when this Covid-19 situation is resolved the RV industry is going to see a major influx of new RV enthusiasts.
