  • Where do you recommend the breakaway line be connected?

  • Great explanation about fifth wheel hook 🪝 and unhook 👍🏼

  • Good Morning. Thank you this is great info. I see I have been making some mistakes on my B&W Companion. Thank you again. Jack

  • Great video great presentation. I don’t have a fifth wheel but I wanted to know how it is done thank you

  • You don’t recommend a tug test to ensure proper coupling?

  • I'm a newbie at this. Thank you for the information!

  • Good video. I’m a newbie to 5th wheels but not towing in general. I’ll watch this a few more times. Then off to a parking lot to practice turning.

  • I've done gooseneck and bumper pulls my whole life but this helped SO much for our new 5th wheel, thanks!!!!!!!!

  • You should remove your ball hitch receiver if not using it. That is an offense is some areas.

  • Can I leave my 2019 gmc tailgate on when towing

  • May I kindly suggest this video be redone. Four important things were not shown;
    1. Tug test
    2. Electrical cable not plugged in
    3. Emergency Brake cable not connected to the truck.
    4. Signal lights, running lights, and brake lights not checked
    Thank you.

  • thanks. in the market for a camper . . . this was very helpful. thank you.

  • He should have had wheels chocked or trailer and fifth wheel plugged into each other set trailer brake when going in or out. This is especially important in sites that might. Not be so level. Also when hooking up for real all slides should be in.

  • Excellent video! Can you send him over to Giant Recreation World and educate their folks on how to teach their customers this skill? They simply take your check, walk around the unit with you in about 5 minutes, pat you on the back and say goodbye. God help if you need to call back with a question. They simply cannot remember your name. Lesson learned by this former customer.

  • Very nice – Makes me feel less afraid to upgrade to a 5th wheel!

  • The B&W when just at the right height will unlatch. Take some load off and watch your truck. Pull the pin and move the handle back then watch it unlatch as you you raise it a tad more. Best 5th wheel hitch on the market IMO! B&W rocks!

  • Would you have or could you make a video of unhitching a Pull right 5th wheel hitch? I have a regular puck pull rite 5th wheel hitch. It is the biggest pain in the rear to disconnect. Maybe just maybe I am doing something wrong. But who knows? Sometimes it unhooks very easy. Other times it has taken me over 30 minutes of up / down, pull forward / back up, etc. I am not a noob, and have many years experience towing trailers. But this is my first 5th wheel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • My 2 cents—
    Great video!
    I would add though (because I have replaced both front jacks!) that to save any pressure on the front jacks —
    when hooking up;
    1. Make sure the wheel chocks are in place and tight–that you have backed against them—applying pressure—during the unhitching process.
    2. as he said in the video, make sure the trailer hitch plate is well below the top of the truck hitch plate–(2-3 inches)–so that as you back under —the backward pressure is on the chocks and the trailer is raised—releasing pressure on the jacks.

    If the chocks are loose and the trailer moves backwards that is applying pressure on the jack leg and foot—mine bent enough that they would not retract and had to be changed–after 4 years—–thankfully insurance paid for both.

  • Some already mentioned that no tug test. Also did not connect breakaway line.

  • New to 5 Th wheels. To unhook you have only the front jacks down? When you see the gap/space on hitch you drop it down again on hitch. How does that relieve the weight on truck bed?

  • Great video, very informative and straight to the point. Thank you Sir!
