  • Dazza love you channel mate really jealous you have no longer got your normal 9to5 so to speak I know you worked shifts, and now get to drive the length of the Uk and Europe.
I’m really interested in getting a motor home but more so a van conversion as it will be more of a get up and go with the kids. Would you be able to do some videos on van conversions and your opinions on layouts, electrical, plumbing etc.

  • Sorry but this sounded like a sales pitch for a second hand motorhome dealer and in the current market VAT on a new MH or van compared to buying second hand doesn't matter as a lot of stock is selling for more than it was when new.

  • The "no VAT" argument on secondhand vehicles is utter nonsense and regularly spouted to mislead by used car salesmen. It is correct there is no VAT on used vehicle sales, but the cost of the VAT is always priced into the used valuation. For example a £96k motorhome would have been subject to £16k VAT when new, that doesn't mean if it's sold shortly after as 'nearly new' it immediately becomes £80k or less as there is no VAT on the value, you would likely find it was around the £90k mark or even near list if it was in demand.

  • Great description. Well described.
Getting stuck up a Turkish mountain is a nightmare. There's a few people on YouTube who've lost engine etc. You know who they are. I know it can happen with a brand new MH but more chance of major failures with a 10 year old. You didn't give many pros for new MH's so just adding one I thought of 😅😅😅

  • I am yet to hear of an even brand new MH not having faults. Some owners (usually new) to vanning will go into dealerships shouting the odds demanding this and that when something is wrong… the best thing anyone can do is to strike up a good relationship with the seller… I've looked around Oaktree, and if I was buying, they would be on my list of places to visit. Well done Darren, for sharing your tips on buying a MH 👍🍻

  • in my personal opinion if it is a Hymer motorhome you are wanting to buy as we all no they are the leading brand but buy secondhand pre-2018 models as they were built by technicians after they were built by accountants as Hymer sold out in 2018 and the quality of there motorhomes are no way as good quality as before 2018

  • All true
Same with cars isn’t it, I always buy a second hand car with all the bells and whistles rather than a brand new car with basic spec, makes sense

  • Keep driving past Oak Tree in my Del van and it keeps pulling towards the entrance ! One day though ? Their add boards on the round about aren’t positioned to their best viewing angle I’ve noticed

  • Very informative Daz, although being lucky enough to own a Burstner travel van already – I won't entertain the ridiculous second hand values right now and will wait for values to come down in which they will !

  • I wouldn’t call this pros & cons of 2nd hand motorhomes. As you are now employed by a 2nd hand motorhome firm , this vid is 99% pro used motorhomes and heavily biased in that direction. Before you chose to work in the business your opinion wasn’t motivated one way or the other and that is what we liked, but now how can we tell if it’s not your job you are thinking about when giving reviews.

  • What about all the diesel motor homes, with cities charging, like London expansion ULEZ ultra low emission zone, are diesels no longer desirable so will be dropping in price

  • Shame you didn’t mention to watch your payload for every upgrade that comes fitted with a used van

  • Thankfully some people buy new so the rest of us can enjoy used. Imagine nobody buying new.
