Very good and succinct video!
Using a 50 amp outlet to power a 30 amp line will mean that the circuit breaker at the outlet will not throw if the 30 amp line shorts to less than 50 amps. Probably unlikely, but most breakers are there to cover the unlikely.

I understand what you are describing. My question is when plugging a 50amp/120/240volt trailer plug into the 30amp/120volt pedestal plug using the adaptor are you only supplying half of you trailer's breaker panel with power by using only one phase? Or is there a shunt built into the adaptor so both phases of the trailer's panel gets power?
Could you do a video on using the two 30amp receptacles with a adapter to a 50 amp plug for a 50 amp RV. Guess both sides of elec box is only getting 30 amps. Can you still use a 50 amp surge protector on each and get protection. I assume so.
If I owned a campground, I would not allow it, but the codes in some places allow the electrician to hook up two 120 volt lines to a fifty amp outlet without them being out of phase with each other. If an RV is counting on them being out of phase with each other for a 240 volt service, they will get zero volts from L1 to L2. With that being allowed in some areas, I would not buy an RV with any 240 volt appliances. Your RV Education 101 might want to give this warning.
That is a great explanation. I didn't realize that there was 2 50 amp lines in a 50A RV. But with all the extras they have I can see why. As always, thanks for the education.
Using a 50 amp service with a 30 amp trailer would allow you to pull more than 30 amps provided individual circuits in the trailer are not overloaded……correct?
