  • Thank you Sir. Lots of good common sense tips for a rookie RV owner. Just got our coach last week. 🙂

  • My worries when you connect the ends of the hose to the filter and leave there is a chance of smell with any water sitting stagnant inside the hose.
When we fill our tank or use it for direct city water I connect the hose and turn on the water and let it run for about a minute then shut it off and connect it in case anything is in the hose.
I do like your idea of spraying the connections with bleach water good idea we will be adding a bottle to our RV.
    Thank you for the tip.

  • if i'm just filling my water reserve and not using city water full time, can i just fill it with a regular hose?

  • Thank you for this information!

  • Excellent tips. I have 2 reverse osmosis systems in my home for all our drinking water and plan to add one to my AS too. Do you know of anyone else that has done this? This would be for drinking water only not our bathing/washing water.

  • Good information, thanks.

I am new to RVs but quite shocked no one uses a required backflow prevention device, required to connect anything external to a drinking water system.

    I am a backflow inspector.

  • You said during set up do the clean items first, electric and fresh water, and finish with sewer hose. Question, should we reverse that order when we break camp? When do we flush tank? Thanks for your video.

  • A helpful point is, do the things that require clean hands first. I hadn't given that step much consideration

  • Very informative and As a nurse I appreciate you speaking about the cross contamination prevention

  • Like the spraying the faucet idea. Once at a campground in a National Forest, a woman had dumped their portapotty in I hope the outhouse- then rinsed it at the public faucet. BARF!!! Some people have no brains.. She was probably about 50 and old enough to know better you'd think.

  • Nice job, thanks for the information.

  • Loved your video, everything you say makes sense, and besides, cleanliness is next to godliness.
    Regards from South Africa.

  • Thanks for the Do’s and Don’ts video. It reinforced my Black Water practice. Great idea about sanitizing the RV park spigot before hooking up. I will add a bleach/water squirt bottle to my trailer.

  • would using the fresh water hose for the black water flush be ok if I also used a one way valve?

  • hello, can I fill my tank with a clean funnel and big 5 gallon bottles? I don't really want to use the hose everyone else s is using… seems sketchy or maybe I misunderstood something? My fresh water tank is 23 gallon (Airstream Bambi 16ft)
FYI we (2 people) go on 3/4 days trips once or twice a month.
