RV Newbie – 1st Black Water Issue

This is what happens when you don’t flush your black water properly…. Small issue on my first solo set up. I dive a little deeper into my ‘mishap’ in my previous video. I realize some of you didn’t understand how my lovely blackwater shot out and all over me… I didn’t know what happened until afterwards. The joys of learning new things. Maybe I was being a bit cocky? I learned that I need to do a better job of emptying out my black water tank… and that I need better gloves for dealing with black water.

  • Laughing… like crazy. So sorry that happened to you. It's the nasty business in RVing even if everything goes perfect. Like anything, you figure it out. My technique… I'm never in a hurry, take my time, and think 2 or 3 steps ahead. You're a super trooper. Best wishes.

  • SORRY THAT YOU GOT POOPY DOOPED BABY GIRL . I STILL LOVE YOU. PAUL

  • …looked like stinky gray water. Could've been worse. Thanks for the video.

  • no worries dear..just like everything else in life the first time is really realllllly fun or sucks..all through my plumbing years i have taken many many sewer baths/showers..also..look at it like this..it is your own waste šŸ™‚

  • Well after 2 years I had my first similar issue tonight. Got to our new site after a few days boondocking in our new to us Motorhome. Went to connect and saw that the black valve was open and end cap on tightly. I closed the valve but realized there is about a quart probably between valve and cap. Fortunately in the RV the drain is vertical instead of horizontal. The end results was a quick sleight of hand and just a small spillage but nothing on me thank goodness. Then I saw this and felt very fortunate.

  • I know this is an old video, but I hoped you added a valve?

  • I always wondered how people hooked up to the black water hook up and, wow…now I know. Sorry that happened to you! Yuk!

  • Iā€™m sure this (or worse) will happen to me. Thx for posting.

  • šŸ™ make sure you leave the hose connected for a minute at least after you CLOSE the valves. You can also buy a clear coupler that you can put on the end of the pipe and then connect the slinky. That way you can see when everything has quit running. You probably know this now but just in case. BUT ALWAYS close the valves completely, what happened was the valve was either left open part way or all the way. Once that has happened you really can only try to stay out of the way cause there is no fixing it after it has leaked past the valve. Most rv'ers have experienced it so you are not alone. šŸ˜‰

  • Dang, that was awful ! AWFUL….but please don't quit! I wanna see your successes in 6 months!

  • Hahahahahahahha I was wishing I could help you! Your a trooper.

  • 4:52 Lacey you should be able to click the screen but your button in the video doesn't function for some weird reason.
