By far one of the most asked about DIYs on my blog & YouTube channel is our renovated camper. I totally get it – we LOVE it too! It’s provided us with so many wonderful memories already, and I love that we didn’t spend a ton of money to create a little home on wheels that’s both functional and adorable for our summertime adventures.

We started renovating our fifth wheel in May of 2017, and finished it just last summer with the bathroom remodel. It was a ton of work and there were so many steps involved, so I thought it would be a good idea to compile exactly what we did to our camper from start to finish in one giant video & blog post!

This renovation cost us about $1600, however we had many of the supplies on hand or they were given to us.

Please note that I’m a self-taught DIYer and not a trained professional, so this step-by-step guide is based on my experience only. However, if you love to do things yourself just like me, I think you’ll find these steps effective if you’re renovating your own RV!

  • Thank you so much for sharing you DIY camper. We are searching for our first toy hauler for our bike trips! Love your style and ideas! Can't wait to start my first RV reno! Bonnie🇨🇦

  • Thank you so much! We just bought a 5th wheel to live in full time. We are definitely going to redo it! Will the floors you used work over linoleum too?

  • What product did you apply to bathroom sink and shower?

  • My fiance and i want to get an rv/motor home to travel in when all of our kids move out. What a wonderful guide you've created to help me build a mental list.

I've watched several of these from various folks. Why white? Would a light grey be too dark?

  • Great renovation project!
That sink, shower and any hard wearing areas you could paint and then apply a layer of clear resin, or use an enamel paint, either of those should dry to a rock hard finish and protect it a lot longer while retaining the new colour I'd imagine. (Or perhaps mix a coloured epoxy resin and paint that over the top?)
Either that or Look for a cheap end of line stock sale by the time you mess around paying for paint etc and doing it you can probably pick up a cheap bathroom set for not much more..?(just an idea)
    Cheers from London England 👍😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

  • Hi, your reno is beautiful! I'm wondering how well it's held up over time, if there are any parts to it you'd do differently after using it a couple years.

  • I personally preferred the before, but it still looks good both ways.

  • I really enjoyed this video. I’m 27 with a 4year old, and I’ve been considering buying a used rv and renovating it. But the thing is I have no experience doing so. This video just gave me some confidence. Question tho: Do you put resin or anything on top of the marble countertop to finish it off?

  • Super cute reno! Love the table update!! Ikea for the win

  • What’s the year, make & model of your family’s fifth wheel? I like this size fifth wheel.

  • Did you paint the lower cabinets black?? You should have told us about painting cabinets. I did like how you painted the bathroom sink & tub.

  • White aesthetic with kids out camping??!🤣 won’t stay white for long lol

  • Im looking to renovate an old camper. How do you check/ fix any potential electrical and mechanical issues? I know nothing about that kinda stuff, I wouldn't even know what to look for. Would I hire a electrician or mechanic? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I don't buy something beyond repair

  • hello!! if you happen to see this, where did you store your RV during your renovations? we live in an apartment and would not be able to keep it here while we renovate! thank you! lots of love ♥️

  • i was looking for inspiration for my next project… this video is exactly what i was looking for! THANK YOU!

  • Good jog Mommy! I just bought a trailer and I can make it looks better because of your ideas. One question, do I have to sand to cabinets' door before use Kilz?

  • could use the marble contact paper for the bathroom also and caulk it up 🙂 looks amazing!!!
