SpotTheScotts: Dream Shopping with First Time RV Shoppers ~ Newbies! {#222}

We take Brian’s parents “dream shopping” as they call it… they are hoping to buy an RV in about 3 years and start traveling… they’ve watched lots of YouTube videos but haven’t been inside many RV’s and wanted to start looking around and getting a feel for what they really want. They also have lots of “newbie” questions to ask, which we do our best to answer. We show them some class C’s, super C’s, class A’s and more, helping them get a feel of what would work best for them. So much fun, and we hope sharing this might help some other newbies out there who are just starting to shop around. {Filmed March 5, 2016}

  • This is a really good video. My husband & I want to go RV shopping & you answered many of our questions. Thanks for sharing

  • "My dad knew Jesus" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • I learning a lot from you guys! Space is something I think about to.

  • I'm not going to read through all the comments to see if anyone else expanded on this topic … BUT, an inverter is used to take power from a 12 V source (your batteries) and converts it to 120 V. Depending on the size of the inverter and the size of your battery bank you can run appliances that operate on 120V service without being plugged into shore power (generally 30 or 50 amp service for Class A RV's). For example …. TV/DVD players. Some kitchen appliances like coffee makers, hair driers, etc. If you have the larger inverters and HUGE banks of batteries you can use microwave ovens, coach air conditioner (need lots of batteries). Other applications run off the 12 V (batteries) separately. Generally lights, furnace fans, water pump, some 12 V TV & DVD players. Most, if not all RV are wired with both 12V & 120V electric service therefore both are "usable sources of power).

  • Did you show the a Super C like the Four Winds 35SK. It's a Diesel F550 but a great layout. Plus they are about the same price as a well equipped Class A Gas. Plus you get the legroom of a F Series Super Duty (like your F450) and the fuel economy of a Diesel (like your 6.7). Worth considering. They go for around $110K-120k new. A slightly used one (if you can find it) goes for around $80-90k

  • Really great away to help people think through their needs.  Excellent.

  • Thank you so much for this video! It really shows the different type of RV's from a newbies perspective! Can you share the prices with is too? Just really curious how much some of those rigs go for brand new!

  • Very useful ideas about what to look for in RVs. Lovely parents Brian! Take care xxx

  • I love RV shopping and how lucky are Brian's parents to have you two?! I wish we would have had such insight when we were shopping. I'm looking forward to Part 2.

  • As usual, another great informative video. Can't wait for the others. 👍🏻

  • First off, AWESOME video. Second, holy cannoli, Batman – Brian sure does look like his pop!  Thanks, Mom, for asking about inverter/generator…and Brian, thanks for explaining it so clearly! Mom asked great questions and you brought things to their attention in a gentle, "not bossy" way. You both did a wonderful job with this video. Really, really informative.

  • Boy, talk about father/look-alikes!!! And then you scared him off… tsk, tsk. Good stuff here guys…another thing to watch out for is shower room height, especially if you have to step up to get into it. You can lose 3-4 inches there.
