  • Awesome! We just got back from our first week with our new TT and nailed everything! Thanks to you guys and the others we watch. Our EMS has a 136 second delay which I didn’t know so that was a little messed up but..ya know…it’s in the manual…😆😆😆

  • I use an app called RV Checklist that allows me to build a customized list or use their list. Open a list, check off whne an item is done and when finished, it will reset for the next use. Easy to edit and easy to use. I built list specific to my coach for arrival, departure, winterization, de-winterization and sanitization. I think it was $4, so really good value

  • We are full timers and our setup procedure is very similar to yours. We have a 5th wheel and one thing I’ll add is on our bedroom slide I took a couple of pool noodles and split them the length of the noodles then I put them on the bottom edge of the slide. One time wracking my head was enough.

  • Great Video. Set up about the same except I check power first to see if we have to move. Then check for level and do the rest as you do. Good point on the auto level – it seams to lift you higher then needed so manual level is a lot better. Since we only stay about 4-5 days I only put out the sewer hose when we break camp to dump so it's not sitting out subject to UV and physical damage.

  • Does my wife yelling at me count as teamwork? 🙂

The advice I have picked up for the eventual RV purchase, in addition to these great tips, includes:

    – Pool Noodles for the slides to reduce damage when you eventually hit it with your head.
    – Have a stick with the size of the slide outs marked. A quick way to measure how close you are.
    – Battery operated Bug zapper. Positioned away from you.

  • Check w your RV manufacturer regarding setup sequence. Newmar recommends that slides get deployed BEFORE the leveling jacks so that's the method we use. Also great idea to get out frequently used items before putting slides out, I'm still learning that one

  • Love your tips on on checklist. I think thar these tips are great. I can see that you need to do your hook ups before you put the slides out because some hooks up are under the slides and you might hit your head on the slide if it was out. I like the idea of someone scoping the campground out before you pull in so you’ll know if the campsite is right for your Rv. Love the snap pads. I would get those. Thank you so much for these tips. Happy belated Father’s Day Izzy!

  • As a full time boondocker in a Class C RV, my first concern is location followed by being level. If needed, I have some leveling blocks-but being solo, that can take some time.
Next is hooking up my portable propane tank to the RV (saving on board propane as a last resort).
Then I’ll extend my slide. Cover up the front windows, and put the little stuff back in place that I secured for travel.
Then extend the awning. Put out the outside front porch mat (staking in all 4 corners). Set up my chair and little table. And if needed, hook up the portable solar panel outside, plugged into RV.
Being alone, this may take 20 or so minutes.

  • Hi guys this is Lou and I am a newbie with my wife her name is Karen. My question is to you when you back up and try to find the perfect spot level and all that plus hook ups which one do you look at first do you want to get closer to the sewer or the water or the electrical which one is more important to get close to or more accessible thanks happy camping

  • Great video as usual. Love to Sierra & Bowser!🐾❤️🐾

  • Good info, that's going into my mental file. Having a good checklist is essential for smooth operations, I learned that in the service.

  • To get in or out of a campsite and there are tree limbs in the way, can you cut them down

  • Can you used icecubes in your black tank to help with cleaning it

  • Experience has taught us that electric can be "iffy" at some places. We now plug our EMS into the pedestal to check electric BEFORE even backing in & leveling. Also, walkie talkies are an invaluable tool for backing in as not all areas have proper cell service to allow phone usage & shouting is not cool.

  • Been RV’ing since ‘92 (?) Before we leave it’s always team work!
At the house before we leave in a trip (we park at home)
I always TOUCH each and every door, bar, cabinet etc . … and do so in clockwise. Hubby has the outside items list.
Once at the camp we do have the phone, BUT also have a walkie talkie in case phone service isn’t working.
I guide (sometimes hubby does it) into the campsite.
We also have a YARD STICK that I will use to check slide distance, and the yardstick can be a balance stick in case I have rocks so not to roll out the ankles.
Your set up guides at spot on!
    Follow the CHECK LIST,,,CHECK LIST!

  • You will love this. Bought our first MC in January. Last month went to campground for long weekend. When we got there it started to rain so I’m in hurry to hook everything up. After hooking up sewer hose I decided to wash my hand so I turned on the pump. After I get everything hooked up I go inside everything seems to be working Ok and I very pleased with myself. Next morning I go to take a shower there’s no hot water. So after making a few calls and checking a few things, I give up and decide to take shower at the camp’s shower. Half way through it dawn on me, “did I actually turn on the water”. Dah!!! But the worst was I ran into two fellow campers and told them I was having issues. I had to go fess up that it was just a case of newbie.

  • Thanks for all your tips. I'm a new RV'er Just bought a 2020 class c and exciting for the new adventure 😀

  • Great video and tips! I wonder if any RV's out there have a travel along maid? This would be nice to have so one can just kick back as the camp is set up. Also, great to help keep the RV nice and tidy. Just my attempt at humor! 😂

  • Excellent, Safe Travels guy's ❤🤍💙

  • do you ever have to change the water pressure? or has the preset been good? I bought one with a gauge but when I see your video mentioning the adjustable I returned it. didn't order the type you have yet.

  • great check list. my rv had a dry erase board so I created my check list and it's been there since 2013.

  • I always had my 21qb class c water full. but when I get my b I may do things differently.

  • Pressure regulator a must. Stopped at an RV resort in St Louis, they even tell you upfront checking in: you must use a regulator they are pushing over 100 psi to get to everyone. Yes, hook up first then slides. Safety issue no busted head. Great ideas for us to use.

  • We have a very similar approach. Slides in until I get the hooking up done and I typically keep the bedroom slide in until I get the chairs and the blackstone out. I have whacked my head on that bedroom slide more than once.. Slow learner, LOL !! Great tips !!
