  • Thank I just bough a travel trailer today good advice

  • What's a good long lasting brand? TAG trailers I heard was the best.

  • We sold our 2021 Forrest River after finding a 2016 Layton Evergreen TH. The old one’s far away better in build quality.
As for maintenance comments, if people would just take care of issues as they happen, trailers wouldn’t degrade near as fast. Instead, a small leak becomes a rotted moldy wall. Neglected bearings become a roadside shit show. Ignored batteries turn into fishing weights.

  • Thank you so much for the HONEST review, I just bought a Springdale 253 FWRV 5th Wheel 2017 and it was listed as 36000.00 I ended up paying 26000 for the unit. My monthly payment is 331.00 per month vs. the apartment I just moved out of that cost me 1600.00 a month. I am excited about this new adventure and thank you for all the good info in your video. I will definitely be watching your videos in the future for tips and tricks. Again Thank you! -Brian Do you think I got a good price for this unit.

  • Yeah this was a nice video but it does suck that you buy a brand new travel trailer, and from day one flickering led lights every where, wall panels popping off the seams.. It's complete shit to own one really. Nothing like spending 20k plus and having to continuously fix something lol

  • Have you found 5th wheels to any better quality?

  • 20k pile of garbage….oh boy do I really want to spend that much

  • At 8:42 you mentioned a screw you put in that came out. Have you tried using a Rivet Gun? Rivets are great, and if you need to open it up, you can drill them out!

  • Don't say there put together by lazy employees who don't get paid well…. 80% of recreational vehicles come from my county. I build these things for a living. We get paid really well actually. Most probably pull 90k a year, a lot make well over 6 figures. Nobody is lazy here, it's literally the exact opposite. We get paid by rate, not hourly. Some lines build 35 of thoughs a day and do it in under 6 hours. That's why you get poor build quality. We don't wanna waist our time. Most companies have an off line pdi now to so the quality is way better than what it was. They pay employees off rate, everybody sprints around to build as many as possible and make as much money as possible. It's actually a really good gig if you like being home by 11am, making 6 figures, and getting at least a month off a year. Nobody here is a miserable employee, we have it pretty good. Also, I'm pretty sure that's a forest river. That's not one of the company's people want to work for around here. If you want a quality travel trailer you gotta look at grand design.

  • An expensive septic tank on wheels that falls apart. How is this fun? β€˜Thought I wanted one but not anymore.

  • So the trailer is not built well meaning a lot of maintenance. And you chose to tow it with a Dodge so more maintenance. That's a lot of upkeep.

  • Thank you for taking the time to give us the heads up on the truth.

  • Great Vid Brother πŸ‘ Super Informative. Thank You πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  • The dealer did tell me that repairs were backed up and struggling to get parts. They were honest at least about that.

  • Nice video, and I agree with all of it, but you have to keep in mind how cheap trailers are.

  • I don’t like maintenance , I will overthink too much and drives me nuts. My husband isn’t very hands on either unfortunately. If he would be more mechanical and hands on I’d buy one

  • If you have to be mechanically inclined that much, I better just stay at hotels!

  • You mentioned the trailer weight creeping up to about 7500 lbs….. Whats your truck payload rating? Why not a 3500?

  • As and equipment engineer and a newbie looking at trailer's etc. I agree with you. They are poorly made and very pricey; this equals future junk to me. One of the most common problems for transporting equipment is vibration damage; just what you show. There are techniques to reduce and improve survivability. Also, we use air ride truck transport. This leads me to look at the suspensions of the trailer or whatever and maybe upgrading it and tires, etc. Most of what I've seen is made for small trips usage as in uhaul. Next most common issue is environmental damage; rust and mold in this case.
My final thought as you repair an area look at upgrading the repair with good quality parts with an eye on it's usage. For instance the lamp has no connection insulation, a short ready to happen with travel vibrations.

  • Most RV owners I know travel 20 minutes to the nearest state park.

  • Thanks alot… I am about to buy a rv and this was very informational. Love the honesty and research. Appreciated much, Quanie and Blue Clothing

  • Awesome storage on the trailer bumper. Where did you get it from?

  • Wish I had watched this before I purchased my RV! thank you for your video

  • Don't be mad at the "jackass that built it" be mad at the factory that doesn't pay enough to people to care about the quality of work they do.

  • I am so glad I found this video. Planning on buying a trailer and a truck now I got the low down and know where to start.
