  • In Florida even with widows open and fans its to hot even at night so u really need some ac power generator or shore power to use the ac

  • Hey, you guys–great videos! Since you take your 24 (?) foot Class C out on some rougher roads and public lands, do you think a shorter Super-C would do as well or better on those roads? It might be 30' long but would their higher clearance and bigger tires compensate? Do you see any Super-Cs on rougher roads? Thx!

  • I'm sure glad that I found you guys! I see you caravan with David & Roe……..what a great couple they are. Love their channel and now I have your's also. Always glad to see LEO's. I did 16-1/2 years Sheriff's Dept. until I had a stroke……got put out to pasture early. Then this past summer I had a major heart attack (widow maker)
My plan is to still do what you, David & Roe do. Boondocking is the only way to go! The idea of a "campground" is a complete turn off.
I'm looking at a Rockwood 2205S TT. It's suppose to be "ready to go" as it has one 190 Watt panel on the roof, a WFCO 1000 Watt inverter and all outlets are already inverter.
The roof would get a additional three 190 watt panels, a 140 Watt suitcase on the ground, a Victron 3000 Inverter with the needed extras, a small Inverter/generator for back-up……oh……it would feed six 100AH Battleborns. Think it would make a nice project for Thomas to do (if he would want to) πŸ™‚ I want this system to be right and I know you could handle it correctly and safely πŸ™‚ Glad I found you guys

  • We are in Calif and like to camp on the ocean. The state park only provides water (sometimes). You have to have about 350ft of hose, fill your fresh tank and then roll up your hose. With just water we were able to boondock for 2wks

  • I been boon docking for almost 2 years in a class a and I use the hour shower to save on water when taking showers and a extend stay adapter for external propane take so I don’t half to brake camp for propane and I have water jugs to refill my freshwater tank I love boon docking thanks for the video

  • We boondocked about 5 months straight in Arizona and southern Utah last year. We enjoy boondocking mush more than being packed in RV parks, lined up like sardines in a can. Plus you get to stay in some of the most beautiful spots imaginable. Last year we spent 2 weeks each on both sides of the grand canyon, including camping overlooking the edge on the N. rim. It was definitely a $100 a night view that we got to experience for free. Of course it helps to have sufficient boondocking resources so you can stay the full 14 day BLM limit before you have to move to take on water and dump your tanks. We carry 105 gallons of fresh water (90 in the MH and 15 in our toad), 80 gallons or waste tank capacity and 24 gallons of propane. We installed 620 watts of solar on the side of our MH which makes running our generator a rare event.

Covid has been a challenge this year as we were in the eastern US and found almost all the free NF CGs and dispersed areas closed, limiting our options greatly. We can't wait for the vaccine to be distributed and for this craziness to end. We're wintering over in S. Texas in a $160/mo. RV park, hoping that by Spring things will be back to normal again, as we are looking forward to some great boondocking in NM and CO when the weather warms up. Stay safe, but don't ruin your life in the process!

  • If you put your hair in a bun, sometimes it's easier to handle, when it's a little oily…..

  • Might have to wash your hair in the kitchen sink so the water goes to the gray tank. My head started itching just watching this! Lol . Happy travels!

  • Not sure if you have a composting toilet or not but that would save on water

  • We dry camped "boondocked" for 12 days in Gunnison National Forest August 2020. I have 2 55 gal barrels in the bed of our truck. One for fresh water & one for black/grey. Didn't need to move the camper for anything. 3 of us took military minute showers every night. We don't have a solar setup. We use a yamaha 2400 genny. It uses about 1.5 gal every 12 hours. Only needed it an average of 3 hours a day. It will run our AC but we never turned it on once we left Texas.
One question. Do you have a generator as a backup option? If not, why?

  • We love boondocking. Four nights at the Kaibab Plateau near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was our most amazing time.

  • Was a beautiful view where you found your spot. One day we want to boondock. We are new to rving. I’m still amazed there is fire pits and tables.

  • What are the rules about using a bucket of water to wash hair and body to save water. Then dumping it out and covering it with dirt.

  • Have boondocked with a class A for 7 weeks. The trick is dumping and water . A pain in the butt, the cost savings is tremendous. Conserving water is number one on the list. We have 95 gallons and can push to.3 weeks. Have 600 watts solar, 2 lithium batteries and if sunny have plenty of power. No crowds, low cost, beautiful places if you look. Only miss we have is long showers! There are other ways to clean. Your rig has to be built for boondocking. Solar is #1. Power is essential, water is secondary. Happy boondocking!

  • I guess we’re lucky to have 45 blk 45gry and 120 fresh…. not sure how that math works. Smart system for conserving water and propane though!

  • Love seeing another couple doing what we do. It’s awesome!! We usually stay between 16 to 20 days at a given spot. Then we’re ready to change our address anyway. You guys rock!!

  • Surprised internet connection wasn't number 1? For most Tubers it's a priority, a necessity. Still get lost with my Benchmark's and o.k. Google Earth and Topo maps.

  • & Most important
Do not eat high fiber food when Boondocking to get more use of the black tank .
French shower is the way to go ..
Just imagine that in the late 1800 people used to shower once every 6 month , even if they where thinking that it is not a must πŸ™ˆπŸ˜πŸ˜

  • First rv and first trip was a week, Colorado thunderstorms everyday on the plus side we found out the roof leaked (class c of course) refused to quit as we still had food LOL put a trash can under it and continued, wished I would've discovered this life years ago.

  • Is there any posi ability of collwcti g rain water while boondocking or driving down the highway and filtering the water, before storing it in it's own 100 gal container? Yeah water is heavy, but it's a dire necessity. Or have someone, like Mr West who made a water machine that pulls water out of the air, portable, one could be made to carry with you on trips. That would be helpful!

  • Hi guys! Great videos. The longest I have boondocked is three weeks. That's just for hunting in the fall. Where I park for hunting there is no sun so I'm limited to the propane adapted generators I've built. Recently I've upgraded my solar charge controller and insulation along with a smaller generator since I only use the generator for charging and I believe that since we have unlimited fresh water and a very close black water dump site that I could possibly boondock for roughly 2-1/2 months before needing to go get food. Yup, not even propane. Anyways I am also a YouTuber but not full time. Check out my RV videos (they're old and need updating) and let me know what you think.

  • Compared to me you both are young and can take on these adventures, which means challenges and discomforts of boondocking. Good luck but for me the risk would be too great – imagine getting the class C stuck out there! On the one hand you avoid people, on the other its good to have a friend or two nearby. Estimating the depth of a rut, especially a muddy rut can be difficult. .. Thermometers don't lie they just aren't in exactly the right spot.

  • I’m looking at recirculating showers right now for our airstream. Unlimited showers, with very little water use. We changed our black to grey by installing a composting toilet.

  • I do Boondocking also I have a toy hauler it has 200 gallons of fresh water black and gray tanks 50 and50 I have 80 gallons of fuel on 2600 wash of solar on top roof with seven panels I have a generator 3000 W inverterAnd I have power 120 power 24 seven and I can run my air conditioning and my heat pump whenever I feel like it I’m staying here in Utah at our families gravel pit and I don’t plug-in at all and I’m onlyAbout 60 miles from where you guys rat and you’re welcome to Boondock out here are you wantAnd I’m a great chef if you’d like to make to see how things work you’re welcome to stop by anytime or I can bring my trailer to you thanks for the amazing videos and I also have a four seater that’s funny get out and have a fun time also go to courtside Arizona and hunt for some gold militating it’s super fun there’s nothing better than having a camper

  • I'm a snowbird and I boondock every winter. My last trip I spent 3 weeks at one site. I just watched the video about the hour shower and I'm gonna do it before my next trip. It looks marvelous.

  • Great video as usual. We also love boondocking and do 90% of the time. My question is with water, is there a conservative way for washing dishes. I know some items such as paper plates, etc. can be disposable. However you need cookware. Any short cuts?

  • Why don’t you shower outdoors? That way you’re not putting shower water in the black/grey tank.

  • Really…boondocking can last a lot longer if you manage your pee/poop. Plastic trash bags, line the inside of your toilet bowl, put the seat ring down and there you go…No black water!!. Empty once a day or more. Problem solved OR a composting toilet. I herd a guy in a video say this…Whether you pay $1000 for a composting toilet or $200 for a diy composting toilet…both of them you are pee/pooping in a bucket". lol I would rather pee/poop in a bucket/plastic bag in order to have a shower and boondock longer.

  • Put a lift on it. Check out weldtec designs. There’s a lot of videos on YouTube.

  • If the black tank is your limiting factor, install a composting toilet.

  • Baby wipes are you new best friend between showers. You don't feel as funky. Also ponytails. That is the best I can suggest.

  • I never had short hair, but I have it cut and for camping soooooooo easy. Also I like a good compost toilet so that saves me H20. Marine showers with short hair is a real saver of H20

  • 5* Video Music went with this Just Right . YOu work at this I think anybody can see that. Great Friends too. Thank You . Father God ,Bless these your Family beyound what they can imagine.

  • We boon docked from 2/15 – 5/27. Finally in a campground. NV state parks are now open. $15 a night, no hook ups. $200 a year for a park pass, includes camping except hook ups, which are $10 more. Bought our pass last summer. All campgrounds have dump stations & water. Half of them have showers. There are about 4 of them on the east side close to Utah. Be safe.

  • Hi Stacy and Thomas, and we are Bill and Sandy Clugston and we own a 26' 2003 Lazy Daze (which I really, really like!). Our Lazy Daze, like yours, has also undergone a series of renovations and will likely see more in the future. I'm an astrophotographer so I'm always looking for boondocking sites with dark skies (see my astrobin site for photos: https://www.astrobin.com/users/wclugston/ ). The longest I've boondocked for is 10 days! I was by myself at one of my favorite imaging sites (Chickahominy BLM Campground on route 20 near Burns, OR) waiting out a very stubborn storm system. Fortunately, the site did have some water and I was able to manually add water to the water tank (many trips with 2 one-gallon jugs!) and the site also had decent pit toilets.

Hope to see you on the road sometime!

  • Just in case: wipes! They make bigger ones but I think I would rather use several smaller ones if you know what I mean. https://smile.amazon.com/Surviveware-Biodegradable-Cleansing-Cleaning-Hypoallergenic/dp/B074DYPZYK/ref=pd_bxgy_2/142-1974828-8021168?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B074DYPZYK&pd_rd_r=f47c8179-cf61-4702-8ff0-939f781a338b&pd_rd_w=Exym7&pd_rd_wg=Cx4BK&pf_rd_p=4e3f7fc3-00c8-46a6-a4db-8457e6319578&pf_rd_r=E71PHDP8164N75JVTRXG&psc=1&refRID=E71PHDP8164N75JVTRXG

  • dry shampoo is great if you have to go a week without washing your hair, no water is needed, body wash clothes are great to use if you can not have a bath everyday, we have them for when we might be to sick to do those things can do them in the bed if have to. when we use to go camping, that is what we used, I was a CNA and we used the dry shampoo and body wash in the nursing home on the ones that could not take a shower are anything, we would go camping 2 weeks at a time when we did go, talking about getting an RV, just not sure which one yet

  • Have you tried Dry shampoo? neither have I but something to think about. It's out there. Not sure if a hunting trip counts as boondocking, but 5 days. I need to work on my solar and power inverter or some other alternative to Generator power

  • Does 18 months in our driveway count? No not really I guess. lol

  • In 2015 when we got started we decided to try it all, boondocking, moochdocking, NP & Sp CG's, commercial CG's and RV Resorts. WE still boondock some, but not much. It's great when you want to just recharge, for us. I hated the NP's during summer. Fall was much better. not as crowded or noisey. WE recently upsized to a class A, not because I hate CG's in the NP's, but because it solved some of the concerns over water capacity. Out west, most NP's have BLM, or NFS lands bordering the parks. sometime we boondock there and take our toad into the park. Believe me 110 gal fresh 65 gal grey and 50 gal black tanks make a huge difference. By the time they gt near full, we were already breaking down to leave. I'm a 1st time viewer just found your channel and will continue to watch.

  • Best way too keep the black tank from filling so fast, is to keep water pump OFF and bleed water pressure into a water bottle before using toilet. this way NO DRINKING water goes ino the black tank. You DONOT need the extra water in the black and in 10 years of boondocking i've never had a problem dumping, there is enough pee to keep the tank liquid without using any drinking water. This tip will save you about 1 litrer of water per flush. AND THE BIG BONUS your black dosnt fill up so fast. CHEERS Steve h.
