A near-daily debate we receive from clients in this video we hope to assist our viewers on getting started down the right “branch” of the towable RV market as we compare the benefits held by Travel Trailers vs Fifth Wheel towable RVs.

  • What is your opinion about travel trailers that have a smooth surface outside vs. the type that look like siding? Not sure how to describe what I'm asking.

  • I hope that when the time comes to buy my RV I hope you are going to be the person to sell it to me.

  • Simple and effective explanations. Start with the beginning and you’ll risk less than making a bad choice.

  • What was said @8:09… has sold me on buying mine from this place within a year.
I'll be coming from Pennsylvania and am truly looking for a Rockwood.

  • I have been shopping around for some time now. You Sir are my favorite host/seller. My goodness, who would have thought that an rv sales person would make you laugh 😃. I think after I have made my purchase, I will keep watching your videos. Count me as a subscriber.

  • Man oh man… you have answered most of my questions I have had, as I’m gonna be a newbie to the rv lifestyle

  • All the links are corrupted. The error page could not be found.

  • I would love to deal directly with you but I'm all the way in New York😭😭

  • There are two things that people don't consider with the 5th wheel. 1) The 5th wheel is TALL. Many places you will want to go will not have the trees cut back high enough and the AC units etc on the roof can be damaged trying to drive under limbs/branches. 2) You will lose the use of the truck's bed with the hitch in it. Taking the 150+ lb hitch in and out of the bed is a chore. And the tailgate becomes another issue when hitching/unhitching (it's simply in the way).
Sure, the 5th wheel tows nice and maneuvers easier. It will also have larger pass-thru storage. But remember that life is a series of compromises.

  • Thanks! Just started our look.. for future retirement. Possible full-time. I like the way you see things and do business. I am also trying to convince my husband. 😆 – I used to have a pop-up 15 year ago with my kids. It was great fun. Now I am older and still love the versatility of having your cabin or home on wheels. Lots to research as I am also looking for quality value – best bang for the buck too. We have a Toyota Tundra 2018 (1794 edition) so I also have to see what kind can it safely tow. I will be watching more of your videos. We are on the East Coast, but would travel to up to you when we are ready. You deserve the sale!

  • Great information I have a one ton van so I went travel trailer and I only tow within a 250 mile radius anyway

  • Like this salesman, if every saleman would take safety over sales pulling rv s would be awsome, I was sold an travel trailer that they told me my half ton would was capable of towing , found after i towed it home i needed a a bigger truck so it cost out the ying yang to have little fun camping, so thank you for being honest, wish i coulda bought from you.

  • Hey SOB PHD your words paint a picture but since you have video why not let the video show us 20,000 words? MATTS RVs videos are quick and effective that way.

  • Just a question is buying a rebuilt title RV good idea And what are the pro and cons of doing so

  • Hi Josh! This is my first time listening to you, and watching your video on "trailer or fifth wheel". You are a true professional Josh! Your family must be very proud of the way you represent your family business. "Getting to know you better" applies to everything we do in life. It never turns out good if one is in a hurry (even in marriage or living together) and doesn't thoroughly investigate what they are getting themselves into. In public schools, this philosophy should be taught more, but it isn't. We are in south Florida but would like to buy a trailer or fifth wheel to travel around once in a while. My spouse prefers a fifth wheel (of course) but she is just admiring how beautiful they really are. An ancient philosopher once said, "A good reputation is better than any riches in the world". We sincerely wish you continued success, Josh! Joe & Myrta

  • That was very informative. Thank you. I'm looking to move into an RV and buy a truck.

  • Hey Josh you are awesome…I am thinking about buying a TT……do i really need to have a weight distribution/ sway control hitch system as far a an extra add on cost….i will be traveling all over th USA…why would this be needed…..if the TT were dangerous right out of the factory they would not be able to sell them aka class action law suit..so why need to but stuff like a leveling kit….its not like if i pass a big semi my TT is going to turn over by a gust of wind

  • We would want the 5th wheel. We loved the one we had. Larger inside. We like to tow a 5Th Wheel. Yet, we will probably have to go with the Trailer. Cheaper and less weight.

  • Good stuff man. I really do appreciate your high-quality commentary. There is so much to learn getting into this lifestyle and I’ve already made a couple of expensive mistakes, that had I watched your videos, I would have avoided. I haven’t bothered to look up where you guys are but I have a feeling if we’re on the road and we think we’re going to do a swap I might have to find you big guy.

  • Great video. Wish all RV dealerships were as honest. I started out with a travel trailer. Moved on to a fifth wheel and wouldn’t go back. Fifth wheel tows so much better. It overcomes all the cons in my book.
