UPDATE (July 2021): We’ve had a few questions on the torque values we mention in the video.
I got them from the RVAirflow document here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0416/2863/1202/files/INSTRUCTION_SHEET_M3.pdf?v=1609361649
It cites Coleman manufacturing as the source…
However, looking at https://www.airxcel.com/DesktopModules/RVProduct/Pdf/1976c520.pdf it just says, “Proper tension has been achieved for each bolt when any portion of each gasket indicating tab has been pulled down even with the roof. See Figure 4. The upper unit has now been properly installed with optimum gasket compression.”
Our take: Use your best judgment. If the torque value seems too high, revert to the instructions from AirXCel.

  • At time mark 11:15, you mentioned “moving the AC unit”. Does that mean you need to remove and reseal the seal on the roof or was there enough “movement” with the seal intact? Great videos on this and the maintenance series as well. Thanks

  • Too bad they don't have a solution for those of us without ducted ac.

  • You guys have really done a great job with explaining the important elements and paying attention to measurable details. I was tweaking my ac due to the obvious design flaws. This is the best option. My dad was a mechanical engineer and he always said you can't beat an engineer with a pair of pliers. Time and money saved here for sure. Thanks!

  • $170 for a piece of styrofoam? I’ll pass!

  • how's the performance after a full summers use?

  • This system worked well in my Thor ACE but took some whittling /shaving and hole relocation. But the results were awesome major difference in airflow.

  • Terrific video and testing approach! Suggestion for videography… keep your faces and/or whatever the point of interest is in the top half of the frame, so the commercial banners at the bottom don't cover them up. Cheers!

  • Excellent video. We have a new 2022 Reflection 28BH manufactured in August 2021. Grand Design did a fairly good job with the AC install, but needs the improved air distribution this would provide. Our single AC unit has the original design. Coleman's design is quite rudimentary and inefficient. I bet it was the typical issue: engineers vs the bean counters. You did a wonderful job explaining and measuring the system and flow improvements. I was set on buying the RV Airflow kit until I saw the price. We use the RV for short camping trips of a few days, and not full time. This is not cost effective. I'll fabricate a similar design based on the several detailed DIY videos on this topic. The air distribution will not be quite as efficient. A risk I'm willing to take as long as the balance of energy in the universe – and the RV "Raceway" ductwork – is not significantly perturbed. Also, I'll be a less poor . . .

  • I have a 2021 Forest River Cardinal Luxury that has Dometic air system. It has only small round vents in the ceiling , 6 in main living area 4 in bedroom & 1in bathroom. There are 10 return vents. I am in Abilene been over 100 for days Run air at 78 to 80, run both air conditioners about 6-7 hours a day . What is the difference?

  • I appreciate your effort to get real before and after numbers, even with the divider issue fixed, that's a substantial improvement!

I just opened mine to get the correct model and found that my divider had slid back (stayed vertical) and was partially covering my ducts. I should see more than 40% when done.👍

    Cheers from your latest subscriber!

  • I watched your video and I thought what a great idea. So I had to go out and look at my AC on my 2018 Coachman Freedom Express. The Furrion AC is already built this way with separate chambers. But it gave me an excuse to wash my filters.

  • Just learned about these. Thx for the vid and sharing the numbers. Did you notice any decrease in the sound levels from the ac running after installing the kit?

  • Now because I basically just unattached the AC Unit do I need to reseal it on the roof?

  • Reppin' the CVMA while helping RVers stay cool! If you're at Nationals in June, and staying at KOA Louisville South, I'll have to look for your rig. Thanks for the video! (I'm with CVMA NY 19-1).

How's the system working out after some time and experience with it?

  • Great video! We ordered our kit today and thank you so much for the 25% discount code. We appreciate your help, but I'll REALLY appreciate you when my old hormones kick in and the camper is cool enough to handle it, LOL!

  • Do you have a video explaining the setup across your unit when using the RV Airflow? I have a sheet that came with my grand design that talks about opening/closing the dumps when in operation. Is it different setup when you have 3 AC’s vs 2 it mostly refers to. GrDes 375RES.

  • Great with keeping my 1st floor Fastly.Cool . Had a little struggle getting it to sit properly in my small window but once I got it situated it works perfectly.

  • Good afternoon!! My husband and I absolutely LOVE all the tips and YouTube videos 👌🏻🙌🏻 we are searching for something to reduce noise from the a/c units ( we have a 2021 Dutchmen Yukon) and the a/c’s are Dometic.. will this reduce the noise or simply increase air flow?

  • Looks like a neat solutiuon. However i dont have a center intake and discharge like you have. My intakes are closer to the walls ( 2 of them) and then I have 8 discharge a couple feet inward running the length of the room. Our bedroom had its own unit but with this system blocking off the discharge ports, doesnt look like it would work for me.
    Thanks for sharing though.

  • Our ac are Demedic not Colman. Will they work with demedic?

  • I find myself watching you guys in these videos over and over your so easy to listen to, There is kindness and patience in you voices keep up the good work. What systems and software do you use to edit these videos? I'm also in I.T and trying to find the easiest method for editing and putting it all together. Old Video but still relevant content. ↪🐶↩

  • Just installed those in our Reflection. Holy crap what a difference. We were instantly able to feel how much more air it moves. Did not disappoint!

  • Is this something you still use? Would recommend ?

  • I know this is an old video but it is by far the best one. I just installed mine and your video had EVERY question I had, answered. Thanks for the discount also. Hope to see you guys out there

  • Thank you so much for your informative videos! It’s great appreciated.

  • Awesome video & info ! 👍 safe travels to you guys wherever they may take you & again thx so much . 👍⚾️🇺🇸

  • While this is great, it's a waste of money, you can make one yourself for 30-50 bucks.

  • So no install video, just a sales pitch from someone that got this for free. Gotcha…..

  • Saw this video and bought this product. So far seems to be alot better. We'll see this summer.

  • Excellent video. I certainly appreciate your thorough review. Keep up the good work!

  • how do these help vs a whisper quiet system

  • I love the little break there where dog is positioned “to watch from your silk pillow” lol!
