• We had a 12’ pop up for years. No no running water, very spartan but that’s not what we’re after now. We want to be light and nimble, possible. Use rv parks facilities as much as possible but have our own to. Boondock for a few days to a week but the 1000 trails option is super intriguing. I’m compiling a list of question that I can hit u with all at once 😁 We want solar, but I’m still adding up how much juice I’ll need. Portable generator works but onboard would be nice.

  Were looking at2 different options. An escape 5.0ta fifth wheel. 3800 lbs dry weight.can be towed by a 1/2 ton, prefer heavy half or possible 3/4. Really leaning towards the Winnebago Navion/View. The 2 -60lbs dogs would be more comfortable this way and I would enjoy the driving and all in one convenience plus added small tow vehicle. The only question I’ll pose here is Diesel or LP generator. I have 0 experience with owning either. My practical side says use the diesel and you don’t mess with filling tanks but it’s an upgrade. I’d say at least 90% of the time we’ll be in FHUs. Also does the diesel smell bad or really bad when the gen runs. Traveling no big deal but parked it could make a difference if we really need it.

• My must haves East to West queen size bed. Bath tub with larger (close to full size bathroom). Storage is a Biggie. Pop out in living room ( Momma needs her space)

FYI we had excellent service a couple of times from a long time family owned dealer Bob Ledford Adventure World on I-85 at Greer, SC and we bought our coach used from an individual. Our DP didn’t have a fireplace but we upgraded one of the A/C units to a heat pump and only used the propane on the rare occasion we were in temps consistently below 40 degrees. Hope to meet you on the road one day.

• We researched quite a bit before we bought our RV. Number 1 was if it was good for full time. We bought used. Dealerships may keep it for weeks. No go when you are full time. We chose fifth wheel because we are full time and we have more space plus if truck breaks down, we still have a home. We bought a truck. We got deals on both the RV and truck. We wanted 35 or under to be able to go to some of the places with size limits. We wish we went smaller. We chose the Grand Design Solitude 310 GK because it has a warranty for full time living and it has tons of windows. It is solid and amazing customer service. So full time usage and windows were deal breakers. These are deal breakers because you can’t make those changes ourselves. You did the whole list with pros and cons of each kind. You aren’t talking about a specific brand RV? That makes a huge difference. This is great for newbies. Thanks. (RV DMC) Alice
