Why We Need 4×4 – Slot Canyon & Missed Adventures – Full Time RV Living
As full time RVers we’ve learned the hard way that mud and soft sand are to be avoided like the plague – we’ve been stuck in both. Those marooned mishaps – and today’s frustrating occurrence has taught us that we need 4×4. When we first hit the road we thought we wouldn’t need 4×4. We thought that two-wheel drive would serve us just fine and we’d leave the expenses, weight, and maintenance of four-wheel drive to mudders. However, in our nine months of full time RVing we’ve found just how incapable two-wheel drive is of navigating off-road.

Thank you for supporting the channel ♥ If we've done our jobs we've inspired someone to chase their dreams!
The skillful cast booly trip because verse additionly contain but a poised frown. silky, descriptive hope
They're going to be lots of wind out there I work down south down that way 3 to 4 times a year
For 15k I thought it was a 4×4 lol,
I had a 2004 for 9k 4×4 no rust 130k miles on 33s last year. (Sold it before I deployed) Maybe it’s because I bought private party not from a dealer? Had a big fourfabs front steal bumper too. Y’all please stay safe and some sort of radio incase there’s no cellphone reception
It looks really cool..! Wonder why there are 9 haters?.. Its beautiful!!!!
I own a F150 4×4 but it can get stuck easily because of the tires that are on it, so make sure u buy the tires for the type of environment u may be in. Tires are the differences even in a 4×4.
Great couple, very fun, very loving, very happy. i really enjoy watching you, you are very inspiring. Great job
Did Slot Canyon: I swear to God it was in a Toyota Sienna (front-wheel drive only). The last stretch to drive to the trail there were, as I recall, two short spans where it looked like I might sink into the sand so, for some crazy reason, I gunned it and scooted across the sandy portions.
My heart was pounding when you guys went thru that narrow passage; didn't know I was claustrophobic until then. Glad you made it out safely, and thanks for the great TOUR – thumbs up!
Wow, now that's some incredible scenery!! I wonder just how many layers there were that made up those "Slot" canyon rock formations, and how long it took for it to look like this, wow, how extremely interesting, thank you for sharing David 👨and Jenni 👩, you guys are so AWESOME!!!! Having lived in the desert, you may want to consider a handheld gps that doesn’t rely on cell service and can download topo maps. Carry chains they can help in sand. If your trailer has a hitch, maybe a small motorcycle/bike. When you camp, move the mount from the trailer to your truck and you can explore on the bike places where your truck won’t go. Carry a compressor in your truck so you can air down your tires and reinflate when back on firm ground. Don’t over deflate or you could pop the tire beads.
get the jeep! hands down!
I grew up just south of where you are, and in Feb. it is always windy.
I like how you guys listen to your intuition….. great 😃
Be safe…..
I wonder if you realize just how fast your climbing in the numbers. So much faster than the average tuber. It is, in my eyes, because you are so well rounded in the publics eyes. 1 Your pet owners and involve your pets throughout your video's. 2. You both have been together for quite a while but, your like the fresh new young married couple on the block. You aren't afraid to show your passion for each other. 3. You explain your video's really well and show awesome places. 4. You boondock and that draws one group, you camp in parks and that draws another group. 5. you have included your families in the video's, that hits another group. 6. your understanding and way of explaining technology draws another group.. You nd Jenny working as a team brings in another group. See how it goes ? Vaudeville called it a schtik. Giving your audience what they want. In your cases and other tubers, are showing real life travels, adventures, relationships as it really is ..
Slot Canyon made me think of the movie “27 Hours “
great video on the solar install.
loving the animal loves.
Hi guys, another super video and isn't the canyon magical. Looks like it's been carved by the rain, wind and sand. Bryce Canyon in Utah is very similar in some ways. I think the holes in the rock faces are made by moisture seeping into the sandstone when it cools and when it freezes the ice pops out along with some rock. Cool experience. And very wise not to continue without 4×4 on your rig. Tacos look awesome! Stay safe guys and keep up the good work.
I caught a very large bird stalking my dog. I grabbed him and ran. Look up. And watch out for " the birds". Especially kitty. Peace. P.s. I love stuck videos.
Great vid. The first shot of y'all driving towards the mountain on the two lane paved road, looks exactly like the end of The Terminator. When Sarah Conner is driving off in the distance. Just something weird I noticed.
You could have easily made it if you aired down your tires. I wouldn't call that a 4wd needed road.
In high winds, perhaps wearing clear swim goggles might be helpful to protect your eyes. The high winds sure can be rough there. The rock formations were stunningly beautiful. Thank you! Re/ a tow vehicle, there are also 4-wheel drive fuel trucks available.
That was a good decision. Specially out there, people aren’t always around and if they are, will they help?
you two are so lucky to have each other, one fills the other… right glove left glove, you get it
Love the sculptures, very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I love your videos
I don't know why you guys haven't hit 100k subs yet. You do a great job.
Just found you channel its great. I know you got a lot of good suggestions on 4×4. Should also consider a winch for current truck.. they arent that expensive and its worthwhile investment when in the boonies. Then later on, the 4×4 consider diesel . They pull like crazy if you ever go bigger on the trailer you already have the truck for it. in fact they drive better with weight when towing. Motors go forever 500k to 700k miles on those things is common. Good luck.
Your videos are great. I am a 4wd beach nut and came across your video of you two and friends on the beach. Keep up the great work.
Such sweet animals. You can tell they are very loved and cared for❤
Time for a winch.
Hope you got your spray in those canyons for the nasties !!! They don't call 'em Badlands for nothing….
Watched a couple of your videos and noticed you seem to always use IKSON for music….I like….
Regarding your dog hiking….see…told you you need to come South….we have plenty of sites….and we let our dogs run! Hell, some counties here in NC don't have leash laws….anyway, enjoying your videos….nice travels…stay safe….
I'm very impressed with your wind screen equipment in that wind!
Do you guys ever worry about leaving your trailer all by itself in the wide open desert like that? Any issues with people ever trying to break into it?
