The one + for me in Xplane 12 is actually the lighting model and light in the air is for me more realistic than MSFS – especially at dawn and dust, The light quality changes in XP12 with each change in visibility
How did you get you 757-200 to work in X-Plane 12? Iβve tried and I have had no luck as the avionics and the landing gear donβt work.
Hey Q8 Pilot out of curiosity were you able to get FMOD to work for the 757 i just updated mine to the latest version for XP12 but no engine sounds any idea what this could be?
I think that trying desperately separate simming from gaming is bit silly. Simulations are a subgenre of videogames after all. I think it usually comes down to being a bit ashamed of being a big kid and just trying to make the hobby sound more important than it really is. The only thing separating men from boys is the price of their toys.. π
Happy belated birthday. I really enjoy your videos.
Congratulations Osamah on your birthday you old man. Love everything you do for the flightsim community.
How to buy these aircraft because XP donβt have market as MSFS?
Happiest of birthday greetings from NZCH, Osamah. Have to admit I thought you were a lot younger than those years declared! – Thanks for all your welcomed contributions! βββββ
nice video as always, just a heads up. When setting V speeds 757-200 requires you to insert it into FMC and The EFIS control Panel (aka the T/O knob switch next to the captains right knee-cap. Setting it up with the EFIS Control Panel it will display on your Primary Flight Display. Same goes for setting Vref Speeds for Approach.)
For Take off, B757-2 safety feature passing 80knots "Throttle hold" Will display on your FMA(the left most square above your attitude indicator this allows for a high speed abort and after passing 85 knots RTO will be able to engage if throttles are pulled to IDLE) IF the plane was in EPR mode, you would be fighting to pull power idle so thats why "throttle hold" shows to indicate pilots have control. So when we take off we set about 1.05 EPR, then we hit N1 on the MCP which rolls our throttles up to our assumed/Flex take off EPR setting. As we hit 80knots Throttle hold kicks in and since our throttles are in the proper position there is no roll back.
In xplane 11-12 since your throttle IRL do not move when pushing the N1 button, passing 80 knots the SIM thinks your throttles are still at 40%. Thus, it brings your throttles back due to "THR HOLD." SO IF instead YOU set your N1 or EPR with your throttles manually prior to hitting the N1 button, you do not have to use the screw for "toga" power.
hope this was helpful :D, again thanks for the great content
So, Microsoft beta 11 is still not great. Whereas x-plane 12 open beta 4 is not as good. Perhaps you should give them a bit more time (like 3 years).
There was a comment in the chat "I wish LR would stop acting like MSFS is a bad sim" That is BS in Austin's own words.
"ASOBO absolutely nailed it, it looks amazing and fly's well"
The only thing he is ever negative about is photogrammetry and that was back when it did look bad, and looked like the world below was nuked. He has never said anything bad about it. He said he is not competing with MSFS and wants to go in a different direction, that's it, that's all he has said.
XP-12 is beta, it will never look like MSFS it is a different sim for different people. Get both or one and enjoy, stop the shilling and the tribal garbage MSFS offers things X-Plane can't and X-Plane offers things MSFS cant at the moment and any real simmer can see that.
Happy birthday, Osamah! Great video. I missed the live stream, but still really enjoyed your excitement for the giveaway winners on replay. I hope, young man, that the next year brings you many blessings. π
Made the $60 donation to XP12. Looks good but killed my performance. So disappointed. I have been on XP for about 4 years now and was hoping to continue but after this release especially being so much in cost, I expected much more. For a couple weeks I went back and forth between Xp12 and MsFS. Ive been flying MSFS sim for atleast 25 years yntil XP11. But now I've just had to call it quit. This version just disappointed me. I have to throw in the towel. You are right after being in MSFS it's hard to come back to XP. I think Laminar is doing a really good job. But unfortunately my days have ended.
I have been always a x-plane 11 fan before x-plane 12, but at this days I prefer msfs2020 especially after Fenix a320 and PMDG 737 and all those updates witch was released, rather than x-plane 12.
Hope later XP12 will be more stable with good performance…
Seems like both the FF 757 and 767 gain WAY too much speed in a dive(even with full flaps) and bleed off speed way too slowly. Just my observation.
The 777 by PMDG was one of my first payware planes
