2020 Vision Project on show

A preview of work from the 2020 Vision Project is due to go on show in the historic and beautiful St Ethelburg’s church in Bishopsgate on September 26th and 27th.

The project was the brainchild of of Brighton-based photographer Sophie Sheinwald who, together with videographer and photographer, Annie Murray, started a campaign to gather 100 photographers across the UK to validate and recognise NHS workers and their actions through beautiful portraiture.

The idea was that each photographer would use their individual portrait style to contribute to a substantial collection of unique imagery of healthcare professionals nationwide. Each photographer was required to photograph between three and six people, with a mood board, ideas and a brief being submitted and accepted before shooting.

One of those whose work is being shown is Bristol-based Amanda Thomas, a leading fashion, beauty and portrait with more than 20 years’ commercial experience. “The 2020 Vision Project is about capturing human connection and creating a meaningful healthcare project to the people behind the masks.

“This has been an incredible collaboration to work on, and being one of only 100 professional photographers to be involved remains a huge privilege for me.”

Featuring a bespoke selection of portraits taken during lockdown, this exclusive exhibition is the first time this work will be shown, ahead of the planned national exhibition in 2021.
