Buy BPI News For the cost of a brew to keep it afloat

The UK’s only photo trade magazine has been hit badly by the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic and now needs the goodwill and support of its audience to ensure its survival.

For the past 35+ years, British Photographic Industry News has kept pro photographers, camera manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and retailers informed and educated about the latest developments in the UK photo trade. Content is often exclusive – with direct access to company presidents and md’s of the some of the world’s biggest camera companies – and of the type you won’t find elsewhere, in print or online.

The support of the UK photo industry – via trade advertising – has enabled the title to publish ten issues a year and distribute the magazine free to subscribers. However, the current global pandemic has thrown that model off a cliff, leaving BPI News facing a very uncertain future.

The latest issue, downloadable from www.bpinews.co.uk, is a ‘Lockdown Special’ in which 18 of the photo industry’s leading voices are talking about how they’ve responded to the tremendous challenges of the past few months. As always it’s free to read but, on this occasion, editor Gavin Stoker is appealing for those who want to see the title survive to consider either paying a yearly subscription of £30 or, if times are tight, to pay £3 a month via www.paypal.me/bpinews – the price of a cup of coffee – for the read.

The level of support will determine whether the title can continue to publish, so the hope is that the industry will respond accordingly and rally round to keep its sole dedicated trade mag afloat.
