Capturing the future: The AOP and Fujifilm host event for next generation of photographers on Sept 29th.

The Association of Photographers (AOP), in partnership with Fujifilm UK, has announced an exclusive event to inspire the next generation of photographers into the industry.

Taking place at the FUJIFILM House of Photography in London on Thursday 29 September, the audience will explore the art of breaking into professional photography.

Aiming to inspire budding photographers into the industry, attendees will be able to hear from a panel of three winners from the 37th AOP Photography Awards.

Speaking on the panel will be professional photographer and trained dance artist Rocio Chacon. Winning in the Gold Fashion category and the AOP Discovery award at the 37th ceremony, Rocio looks to capture polarities in her work, looking for aspects in her human and non-human subjects that are often overlooked. She has previously worked for a variety of galleries, editorial publications and independent companies.

Charlie Clift, whose work has been published for a variety of global clients including BAFTA, Action for Children and Coca-Cola, will also be a panellist. Always looking for a new way to express a story through the art of photography, Charlie received the silver award in the Portrait category at the 37th AOP ceremony.

Award-winning photographer, Sujata Setia will be the final panellist.  With a focus on art that advocates for change within our society, Sujata aims to challenge our concept of normal using her art.

Theo Georghiades, General Manager of Imaging Solutions at Fujifilm UK commented: “Breaking through the glass ceiling into the world of professional photography can be both challenging and daunting for those starting out in the profession. To bring together those who have done it so successfully to impart their advice is something that we are honoured to be hosting alongside the Association of Photographers.”

Isabelle Doran, CEO at Association of Photography commented: “Hosting events such as these helps those breaking into the industry gain invaluable advice and support from those who are at the cutting edge of it. We aim to inspire a new generation of award-winning professionals to showcase their art for a variety of future brands and causes. We encourage any enthusiastic photographer to come along and experience what Rocio, Charlie and Sujata have to say about creating a career in photography.”
