Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Black Canyon Sunset” by David Shield. Location: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Colorado.

“Even though Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a national park, it remains to this day an area that receives low visitation, especially compared to other parks,” explains Shield. “After some research, I decided that I wanted to photograph near one of the park’s overlooks called the Painted Wall. I arrived well before sunset so I’d have time to explore the area and find an even lesser photographed composition. I found this spot where I used an area of rocks as a foreground for my sunset shot, about a half-mile from the main overlook viewpoint.”
