“’Wonder’ was taken at one of the tallest waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon,” says Foster. “With no man-made structures visible, I felt the image needed a person in it to show the immense size of the waterfall. I composed the scene so that the waterfall took up most of the vertical area of the frame, set my camera timer to 20 seconds and quickly ran out to stand as close to the falls as possible. With the huge amount of spray coming off the base of the falls I was immediately drenched, but it was well worth it to get the shot!”
