World Sports Photography Awards: Closing Date Extended

With a remit to showcase and to share more of the amazing sporting images that often don’t receive the coverage they deserve, the World Sports Photography Awards are open for entries until March 16, following an extension to the closing date to enable still more photographers to take part.

The World Sports Photography Awards are free to enter and have been designed to recognise and celebrate incredible sports images and the photographers who take them, and they’re the only global awards for sport photography, attracting some of the world’s best practitioners. Meanwhile the judging panel includes leading figures from sport, media, politics, brand and creative, and this year Professional Photo’s editor Terry Hope has been invited to join them.

Because of the issues many photographers will have faced covering sporting events over the past 12 months, the theme of this year’s event is a celebration of 25 years of sports photography, and you can enter your selection of images from any years from 1996 to 2020. You can enter 20 images in total, the maximum size of each not exceeding 10MB. Head here

to upload your images now. Full terms and conditions and a selection of last year’s amazing entries can also be found at www.worldsportsphotographyawards.com.
