Morryde Step Above RV Steps – Installation, Review & What You Need to Know Before Buying! There are some things you should know before buying & using this style of step. This video will show you how to install them, we will give you our review of them, and we will tell you what you need to know to avoid inconveniences and possible damage to your travel trailer, 5th wheel, or motorhome -RVTT
⚠ UPDATE: 1 disadvantage of this style of step not mentioned in the video is that if they are wet or very dirty, drying or cleaning them off is a good idea before closing them. They do go in your RV after all.

Nobody tells you this when they review products. They always give the part a great review, probably because they got them for free. Thanks for pointing out the potential problems. A+ channel!
So my problem was when I was installing my lippert adjustable steps My door to my camper which I have 2021 2106ds My screen door does not open all the way due to the fact that my awning arm is right next to my door so I had to off set My steps What's then left me with the issue of my locking mechanism Not being able to lock on the right hand side so I had to make a bracket So my mechanism would lock and place I I was a bit disappointed And the install because of that but I do like the way this steps are made in the way the steps function So overall I'd like the steps very well
Hi we have the steps, they were in the rv when we bought it. But the screws have come out, do I use a bigger screw? Or do I use anchors? Any suggestions.
My threshold only measures 1/2 in what are my options?
I have a BigHorn 5th wheel. Had to send the Moryde Step Above back to the seller. The steps that lead to the bedroom would not allow enough clearance for the door to close. Even if I modified (cut back) the lower step the Moryde steps still wouldn't close. Too bad the manufacturer doesn't make you aware of this potential problem. Cost me shipping fees to send it back. A loss of $125
Don’t you have a screen door on your Rv ? If so was there a clearance problem?
Our Montana fiver came with the Moryde steps and after using them for three years I totally concur with your assessment. We really like them. And as you said in the video, the only problem we have is deploying them at our storage facility. About 50-75% of the time the small storage slot next to us parks something too close for us to be able to access the inside of our trailer without hitching up and moving it.
I can’t imagine anyone adding this steps to their RV. I have 2 sets of these steps and despise them. Every time you put them up…you bring dirt and debris into your RV. More especially if it rains while you’re camped. I’m looking to change ours.
Great video as always
Finally someone who goes over in detail the threshold issues…had to return mine because of the screen door/threshold was too tight fitting. No room for the stair threshold.
Interesting, I will look into buying these. I am also looking into replacing my cheap plastic Thetford toilet with one made of porcelain instead.
How do you make adjustments to the door to clear the threshold? Our door closes, but with force. I'm afraid it will stress the hinges.
Thank you for a great tutorial. So very informative. Now I am comfortable looking for new steps.
Hi, Big Ben 🇨🇦 Canadian followers , improved step by putting cabinet handles under steps lower and mid steps to help raise and lower 👍🐴
So many reasons not to buy these type of steps, so many inconveniences. I put a Torklift on and never looked back.
Wow. Nobody talks about it. Door did not close and screen much less! I could not close the doors, or adjust it. I had no room top. Thinking of cutting bottom door
All did you know that Moryde has a rail option that we ordered for $60. Reinforced them with square tubing makes RV great with rail have lots of clearance on my Imagine trailer. Also use rubber tube from medical place to keep steps tight when travelling also made big pads for legs and put rubber under them .👍🐴 🙂your Canadian 🇨🇦 rvers.
Very good review. I have these steps and they are much better than the standard fold out steps. The Series 2 steps ( which I have) have done away with the pins for the height adjustment. Also available is a railing to go on these. One caution : the railings for each series are not interchangeable.
These things are horrible how are you supposed to build a deck to the RV?
Hi just found your channel. And subscribed. Can you please provide me a link for the pet stairs that are in this video. Thanks
These steps are exactly what I need for my slide in truck camper. The issues you talk about would not pertain to me. But is great information.
Bet they come out with foot attachments like they did for stabilizers. Another business opportunity for someone!
I dunno why you would want these, don't all RV's and trailers have built in automatic self supporting steps? We have a 2009 Winnebago View. These seem like a total hassle.🤷
We opted out of these steps because, living in WA state with all the rain and mud, that every time we put them up it would spill all of the mud and water into our rig. Has anyone found this to be an issue?
One thing I’m concerned about is having space issues when pulled into a rest area situation. Sometimes other vehicles park too close making opening and closing the steps very difficult. These types of steps are a classic fix one problem, create another.
For the reasons you describe and for the size and price of it, why? I can’t see any reason to replace traditional steps unless you have money to burn for the minor issue of the step causing trailer wobble. Plus when I need to get into the trailer for a quick reason I don’t want to deal with this big oversized thing in the way with no space to put it down, curbs, cars and other trailers. …..As for the wobble, use the bottle jack you should be carrying. An expensive solution for what problem?
We have a 21 Solitude, and there IS NO SAFETY LATCH!? Never saw one. My big beef is opening them when we make a quick lunch or overnight stop as we do many times. Parking so it is safe to open them takes some thought!
My 2019 5th wheel came with a "Morrde Step". About a year later the bolt that holds the two struts broke!! Called Morrde, They mailed me a new bolt that day, No charge!! Highly Recommend them!!
I have a 21 mini lite 2516 with these stairs, don't like these stairs because if the stairs are wet and you fold them up, water gets all over the floor. Also these steps bounce around when stowed and push against the screen door frame thus loosening the screws on the door frame. I am looking into installing the tried and true old stair system
I have an issue with steps on asphalt or concrete sometimes being raised just a little causing door clearance problems. 5th wheel came with 4 steps so bottom step is a ground level. They probably should have only installed 3 step at factory. At a campground with dirt I can just dig down a little. Trying to decide best option which may be to cut off bottom step as the extensions will compensate.
Don’t buy them..I have and dislike them.
Steps are rather pricey. My rivets started rusting the second or third trip out. You would think at that price they would use stainless or a rust resistant Revit. They were simple to install. RV tech at Camping World wanted to charge me $200 to install. Hardest part was unloading them out of the truck.🤔
They suck if you have to pack up in the rain. Wet steps inside the camper…
Can you recommend a ramp that works similar to these steps? My wife is handicapped and can walk up a ramp but cannot ascend steps.
We replaced our Morryde step with torklift steps to address the clearance issue and you also failed to mention if you are in a situation where you need to extend the support legs all the way from the ground to the 1st step can be very high, another issue torklift steps eliminate with an extra popout step at the bottom to use in this situation.
Yeah, these and the Anderson levelers are the biggest unneeded rv accessories and imho a waste of money
My2019 wolfpup came with Moreryde steps. I do like the stability but; The potential damage to your camper is real . I tweaked my leveling with the steps down and bent a door hinge. The rule is , Steps go up first and down last. Also I do not think there is enough adjustment for uneven terrain ,sometimes I have to use blocks. Also whatever dirt or bugs are on your steps are in your camper when you fold them up. I have velcro 'd a small brush under the step
I wish that RV manufacturers would give you the choice of NOT having these steps – nowadays so many of the RVs I want have these and I really, really dislike them for so many reasons. I love the old folding steps in travel trailers and wish we could still get trailers with those instead.
