Quick overnight spots are necessary for us RVers to break up long trips. Is Walmart or Cracker Barrel better for RV overnighting?

Breaking up long trips is necessary for RVers. Weather it’s a cross-country trek or a jaunt two states away, finding a spot to park the RV rest for a night is essential. Up until recently, Walmart has been our primary overnight rest stop.

However, we have become fed up with how uncomfortable it is to overnight at Walmart. Most are open 24/7 so throughout the night we are woken up by slamming car doors, loud exhaust, car alarms and people yelling. Sure, Walmart isn’t a hotel so we understand it will be far from ideal, but there’s gotta be a better option right?

Cracker Barrel is that better option. Many have specific RV parking, the parking lots are extremely well-lit, and they close throughout the night making overnight stays very quiet. We get turned away by about half of Walmarts when asking if we can overnight, but we’ve never been turned away by a Cracker Barrel.
