  • I was so interested in going solar and adding all the wiring and screwing in seems like a full time job I think getting a solar power bank with panals is the way to go for me thanks so much.

  • Need a vent for that battery. Batteries being charged can give off poisonous gas

  • Why put so many wholes in your roof? There are so many professional glue solutions available.

  • F'ing epic build, exactly what I'm looking to do. Renovation of these older motor homes powered by solar systems is ingenious.

  • Hi! Thanks for your video and all the great info. I have an 80s motorhome and I'm wanting to lay 4 panels, but I have no idea where the joists are… The wood beams. Did all your joins attach to the wooden beams? I'm imagining that I'm going to have to get some long bolts and go through the ceiling and then attach a nut..? Any thoughts or suggestions?

  • You started van-life on Jan of 2020?!?!? Unfortunate timing to say the least.

And then, I see from your other channel that it didn't work out that great for you and Emily. You both got COVID. Glad to see you had mild cases. Phew!

  • I'm just watching your year-old video and congratulate you on your decision at the time you did. I really hope you were able to jump before the global shutdown and Upscape to freedom on the road. ❣️🙏🏾

  • It takes some doing getting use to smaller spaces. Make outside area comfortable living space with awning, good chairs, outside TVs, and mosquito netting, and heater.

  • We like Renogy system and installed it on our travel trailer. Smart move not drilling in your thin roof, I would have done the same thing. You can dress it up with a plastic sticky square tube cover.

  • They make conduit roof seals specifically for solar setups like this. I am doing an install on my 1985 GMC Citation and didn't want to run wires down the side of the truck because the wires are needlessly long and also it potentially could get ripped off and damaged when driving down roads with trees or bushes. Check it out here is the link to the rooftop wire fitting.

  • Good video, but why didn't you at least wait until sunny day or drive it somewhere sunny to do a final test? That was lame. I waited all the way until the end and you never showed what the solar panels could do at maximum output.

  • use the aluminin tubing to cover the wires outside instead of tape, so that it looks neat. my brother is an electrician and runs these tubings on all electrical lines and it looks professional. i think home depot sells them for very cheap.
