Long travel days are a pain right? As full time RVers we try to keep travel time down below six hours, or three hundred miles. However, situations arise where we need to travel all day. Today is such a time.

We’ve grown used to driving all day towing our RV behind us. Even with five pets in the truck with us – a dog, two cats, and two rabbits – traveling for thirteen hours still isn’t that bad for us, this is what we do after-all!

We’re making such a long trip because we need to be in Seattle, Washington for Christmas and we have to drive all the way from southern California in the Mojave National Preserve. We are using Chico, California as a stop-over point halfway to Seattle.

Typically we snowbird for the winter which means we head south to the warm and dry desert climates of Arizona or southern California. This year however, we migrate backwards to the cold wet of the Pacific Northwest.

In CA, Arco gas is usually less expensive. Shell and Chevron are sky high.

You guys are young and can recover; but love it how you hit it hard. We live in Miami, Fl it takes us 8 hours to get out the state from Miami. Cali is beautiful but they tax the shit out of you and their regulations are out of control; Many are exiting the state to expensive to live there.

Here, I thought I was the only one who calculated my drive time by miles/50. Great minds think alike! It works out nicely, since I don't tow over 60, either. And it's almost always spot on! I also now have 5 pets(4 cats, 1 rottie cross dog) and traveling days are for sure long days!

Do you have the GasBuddy app on your cellphones? You can search your location, ahead of where you are and see what and where the fuel is cheapest! I can check Chico, Ca from Ft. Hood Texas! I hope you were ble to find a campsite in the Chico area. Lake Oroville has rv camping sites. Ca has the worst fuel prices ever!

I was wondering i couldn’t find if you have a videos about boondocking safety. My wife is worried about boondocking somewhere and having our trailer broken into. Have you heard of or had anything like that happen?

Barstow is cheaper for fuel on the west side of town. If you ever get back to Barstow, Albertitos on the main street just east of where 58 joins 15 makes a mean burrito. Yeah Ludlow pretty much sustains itself on the tourists that have to eat or get fuel there because they can't make it to Barstow or Needles.

You guys hit the road just in time a few days later and you would have had snow on Hwy 58, maybe even a snow closure. 15 was closed for several days between Baker and Primm. Between Baker and Barstow. Probably snowed on your campsite.

I also had the problem with the propane pigtails to the regulator. Replaced both within a few months.

5:08 if you go 20 miles into CA the opposite way there's Walmart, gasoline should be comparable to AZ too. Not a fair statement, comparing middle of nowhere desert to a community.

It must be nice spending time on the road with your best friend. You guys are going to always cherish these times. I'd like to do the same thing, but can't convince my husband to leave work and head out. We only have 8 years to retirement and I'd like to spend these years visiting different places around the country while we still can. Good for you two!

The Cheapest Diesel fuel in the UK is around $7.83 per US Gallon. It has been around this price for several Years now. Many Fuel Stations are as expensive as $8.46 a US Gallon!

I agree about turning ahead the clocks. Arizona and Hawaii don't do it. I hate it getting dark so early and don't see the benefits at all.

Gas prices taxes and housing is why people are leaving California in droves. Such a beautiful state being destroyed.

When you asked sweetie if she had to go potty, both my dogs looked up and I felt bad so I ended up pausing and taking them out. 🤣🤣🤣

Teflon tape (super cheap) when putting the pigtails on can prevent that. Unless you are having issues with the hoses themselves leaking.
