A few months ago we tested prototype versions of the Lectric XP folding ebike. We fell in love and couldn’t wait to get a pair for ourselves. But now that we’ve owned them for a month do we still think they’re worth the $999 price?

Short answer, yes! The Lectric XP is one of the most affordable ebikes on the market with most of the competition costing well over $1000. Its top speed of 28mph allows this bike to keep up with city traffic – and it’s fun!!

Sure, there are a few things we would change about this ebike, but the low price and aspects we love greatly outweigh our small nitpicks.

Can you mention about riding on rainy days? Do you have to cover lcd or keep pedaling?

since the bike has a hinge you can work off of that to add suspension the seat would be further away from the handle you also might have to extend the wires I think it could be done, doesn't your dad have a welder and grinders? How about a seat post so one pipe will slide in side the other pipe with a spring in the bigger pipe.

This maybe a little late. Seat for your wives bike, look for a woman's specific seat woman carry their weight on soft tissue and men carry it on bony parts so seat needs to be shorter and wider in back

Has anyone compared the Lectric XP with Bolton Crusader step through? Just wondering if the Bolton is worth the extra $300…

They have the price marked back down to $899 for pre-orders. Do you happen to know if the throttle can readily be disabled and the max speed kept at 20 mph so it can be used as a Class 1 e-bike on bike/pedestrian pathways?

What is your system for charging these bikes while you are off the grid and boondocking? I see you all have a sweet solar setup, are you using an inverter, inverter generator, or some 12v DC connection to charge them?

Glad I watched the video till the end, When you were on your knees next to the bike, it really showed how big and beefy the bike is. I am so glad I never funded the Mate X Bike, It has been such a horror story for owners of Mate X. I just ordered mine a few minutes ago, hope they can deliver on time, with all this Coronavirus going on :o/

Be Safe everyone during these hard times. Thanks for the videos and tips :o)

Do you use tire slime to prevent punctures. I heard the tyres were not very puncture resistant.

Problem I'm having is they claim when they run out, thats it for a while, I don't like to see expiration dates of production right at the point of sale, I scares me to think if I need an electric hub or controller replacement 5 years down the road a big fat phrase ""DISCONTINUED" will put my investment in the dump. New things are easy to buy, but these days they are near impossible to keep. If I can "MAINTAIN and "UPKEEP" without the dreaded "OUT OF STOCK" popping up in front of me, this bike would be my answer.

Got my Lectric Bike on September 23, 2019. It came with no tube or seat. Notified them and they said they would send them. Then they ask for pictures of the box so I sent them some. The box had a little damage and was missing one banding strap around box. Then on September 27, 2019 they ask for a picture showing the bike had no tube and seat so I sent one. Guess they figured I was not smart enough to tell it had not tube and seat. The bike is pretty useless without a tube and seat. It seems this did not concern them much. It is October 11, 2019 and still no tube and seat. This is Extremely Poor customer service in my opinion.

Bikes can be locked but the display is vurnerable can it be locked down? Can it be ripped off in a nano second by thieves that think its a tablet. Can it be disengaged easily and be taken off and carried with you? Any ideas how to lock it down onto bike?
