A new adventure begins as we set sail for what almost feels like the first time again.  We’re jumping off the deep end here and no doubt many will call us cavalier.  Because we’re taking a 47-foot NEEL Trimaran, a type of boat we have never sailed and have zero experience on, out to sea on an offshore passage.

Would we have liked a test sail first???  Of course!  But it was a quick handover, the weather was fickle, and here we are.  But it’s certainly not our first offshore passage and we like a good challenge.  And a challenge is exactly what we got!

Grab your popcorn because this one is a rollercoaster.

WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.

We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.

Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It’s all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.

We’ve lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.

Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

  • Y'all are great. Did the boat have a manual 😂

  • You seem to be doing the shakedown cruise for the owners.

  • You are very cool sailing in a new boat. I would sail with you two anytime. Loved it 😊

  • Talk clearly please Nicky and not so fast, yr Words run together and they r hard to pick up sometimes, This is BORING!! Why r u always on the up and up, like smiley Joes, just be normal. Ive gone off watching u,….. u r like showing off, ova excited, or something,………………. just for a stupid little Boat Trip.

  • That’s perfect sailing weather .. drama!
You guys take a W on this one

  • Look s like the worst aspects of mono and cat. Seems to find every wave crest and bounce. Rather than kiss the water.

  • Know exactly what you mean, it's like being homeless in a sketchy old tent at night during a freezing storm and the housed peeps didn't realise it was raining.

  • I lived in Charleston for several years, and am moving back this summer. The whole time I lived there I always thought about how fun it would be to sail. It's fun getting to see the real side of the adventure! Thanks for sharing

  • Omg so many angles and shots in that breakfast montage. You two are so nice that when you have trouble like Jason wrestling the winch, we just wanna step through the TV and help you out, then let you get back to it.

  • "I'm up; I don't know that I'm very functional" 🤣 that's us every single morning.

  • I dislike wind against current more than anything else while anchoring. I get it

  • Million dollar vessel, best of the best and they complain!!!!! rides the waves faster than all their previous vessels. Ocean cruising can be rough but you get used to it. Stop complaing.

  • I grew up in Jacksonville. I miss it so much, but I can attest that weather changes fast.

  • Welcome to North FL, where our daily storms make the Hurricanes look like jokes!

  • That's Florida. Thunderstorm like the end of the world and then it's gone in no time.

  • Wow guys that episode was magical. Watched for many years SV Delos and Vagabond but your video quality and story telling is better keep developing and improving 👍

  • Interesting to see the movement of the tri.

  • Love you guys but It never ceases to amaze me how many sailors don't wear a life jacket when they are in rough seas and scrambling around on deck. There are just two of you, if one goes overboard can you imagine trying to start the engines, drop the sails and get back to where your partner fell in!!
    Please wear life jackets!!

  • 35 years ago I was helping deliver a friend’s friend’s boat from Melbourne, FL to Mississippi. It was a 56-foot ketch-rigged trimaran — 28-foot beam! On a very pretty day with 15-knot wind we lost the mainmast (bent double). We were able to limp in to Lake Worth Inlet, where we left the boat and drove back to Louisiana. Great memories!

  • DANG ! That was Frightening ! Congratulations on the new born 44 !
    You Two Are Awesome !

  • The roll cloud that day was impressive from my place about 4 miles west of your anchorage. I sure wish I would have seen y'all about town to say hello! St. Augustine is heaven on earth! I think I have seen every episode of yours yet so far, with the life raft loss being the most intense. Take care!

  • You guys handled this like a champ! Super impressed by your problem-solving, engaged in learning, and open-minded attitude. I love your earrings, Nikki! Where are they from?

  • Where is the new boat? What's with the trimaran stuff? People are paying good money to follow your catamaran HH44 adventures. This just seems like such a let down after all the prior sailing the world theatrics. Jason? Nikki? Are you living vicariously off other multi-hullers, when you're land locked? Sounds a lot like your viewership.

  • Shows how novice sailors they are.. getting bummed and dragged down by unfavorable sailing conditions- that's sailing for you- you take what you get and dont complain. Life isnt all champagne sailing…

  • Hi to you all and Happy New Year. I have to agree it’s a little safer on Land, faster we just drove from Key West to Charleston SC in about 15 hours 👍 🏝 Safe Travels!

  • Best three things about sailing. 1. In port. 2. Leaving port. 3. Coming into port. The rest is open to interpretation. 50thouplusmiles😂

  • Life on a sailboat sounds horrible to me…expensive, stressful, uncomfortable, always something going wrong, even dangerous….in exchange for a few moments of comfort and beauty. No thanks.

  • This is my favorite content! Glad you guys are back on the seas!!! 😀 safe travels! proud of yall!!!!!

  • 2 sail sets broken, main sail jacked, sheet lines too short…seems like a lot of problems for that boat. But, another great video and good job handling all the problems !

  • I absolutely refuse to go into St. Augustine (and most inlets) at night. On more than one occasion, I have pulled in the sails, turned off the engine and drifted in order to wait for daylight.

  • I enjoy sailing but I will stick to the small sailboats for nice windy days on the bay, and keep a power yacht for cruising. I see that HH gives you a nice jacket when you buy one of their catamarans.

  • Interesting , Thank You . Thank You for showing the porpose . Thank you for showing the learning curve . At least you are in a solid boat , and solidly anchored
