My wife and myself went through much the same thing. I did 42 years of long haul and when I retired it took sometime to really get to know each other again. I may've drove about 6 million miles but I still love to rv.
Do not believe the videos! No friendly campers no pot lucks no gatherings I hated it
Great tips! Where is the campground in this video?
Good advice, but I just like watching the two of you. β€π .
RVing for 48 years with my bride. Full time for one year and counting! Loving almost every minute!
Can you put a peloton tredmill on a RV?
Great job yβall!
How do you sign up for news letter
I'm on my 6th checkout trip because each trip has had simple and attainable goals. This trip? 1. Four-hour drive (my longest); to see how the Airstream tows after a 3" lift, 2. WFH remotely with my laptop in the Airstream for the first time using cell service internet from a hot spot on my phone; I already successfully tested running a Webex meeting on my laptop using a hot spot on my phone at home and not over WiFi, and 3. Using a 110v heater (I've already winterized so no water in the lines to heat) while having shore power at a county fairground. Step by step with simple goals. Already have cold-weather boondocked twice now. Easy breezy with propane heat. And the last checkout trip was to determine how much propane I would use heating, cooking, operating the fridge, etc. and I was surprised how little I used (half a 30 gallon tank over 3 nights at 8Β°F – 20Β°F).
Also, I love the sailor and Navy wife humour. Your dynamic as a couple is awesome. Thank you for so many excellent and helpful videos over the years. I am going full time when I sell my house in six months. My someday draws nearer and nearer… continuing the checkout trips until then and watching more of your videos! Retired Army. π
What rv gps do you use? Is it an app??
Suggestions on WiFi for RV we have a travel trailer
Great video
Thank youπ
I hear/read over and over about the importance of a water pressure regulator and an electrical surge protector.
Why are those items not STANDARD, permanent installs on RVs? They should be as standard as a fuel tank or a steering wheel β
After seeing JunkyardDigs and Sleeperdude channels rehab old RVs, I've been wanting to do something like that and take some road trips with the family. Your videos have been really helpful!
Dimensions…it's something I do unconsciously.
Subscribed – You guys are adorable and NOT boring at all! Some of these other RVloggers don't cut it – keep up the good work π
Ex-missile launch officer. Life was all about checklists.
Just did a shakedown on my new trailer a week ago. I went to a small dog show 30 miles from home. I changed from an RPOD to a Geo-pro when my RPOD was totaled in an ice storm. I have a second shakedown dog show 30 miles from home this coming weekend where I will need to boondock because they donβt have hookups.
Thanks very much for this video it was really informative
New to your channel. RV researching so no RV yet. But can you share what coffee machine you are using in this video. Thanks. (USMC retired family) love your videos, Iβve watched 2 so far.
You guys are great ,exactly what I need to hear I'm looking to buy my first Motorhome and you're right after all the excitement now what I do? LOL
Where or how do you get parts for your rig? Youβd have to be in one spot for a while to order something.
Thanks for the tips, pretty new to your channel. Weβll be pulling a 5th wheel within the next year or so. Been researching things for 2 years trying to prep. Good point about not having a sticks and bricks. We were kind of planning to build a place to come back to, but possible we wonβt want to. Something weβll have to discuss. We just figured eventually weβll get tired of being on the road. We may end up loving it. Weβve camped our entire married life with our kids and just love being out in our camper.
That wasn't boring at all. You guys are great and so informative. I truly enjoyed watching.
Hello, love your videos. We're new, just getting our coach this week. You said links and recipes below, where ? Mexican Martini? Thannks
Looking back now, "in a couple weeks, we should be golden", seems naive. π
Knowing what we know now.
You guys made reference to loving the campground that you filmed this in but I canβt find anywhere in the notes of where you were at. would you please share the name of the campground?
Another great video. I love so many of the tips. "You don't need everything". "Shake down trip or three". "It's okay to have feel all kinds of emotions". Like I said before we are going FT next year and just purchased our 35ft Vacationer and I'm so excited but scared as heck. I'm trying to learn as much as I can and your helping so very much thanks so much.
Would like to know what campground you were staying at in this video?
Great info.Outstanding weβre first timers.
Hi there. The links to your internet wifi items do not work. Thks
I plan on selling everything I have house cars everything to buy RV and truck pay cash still continue to work and it just do it that way and I can move to place to place whenever I feel like it and I have a good amount of income to do so what yβall think about it
Love the tips and the journal. Looking forward to a day when you have a Plan Of the Day read to us.
how do you keep a separate maintenance fund? like a separate checking account? im asking seriously. there is a lot i do not know.
Thanks for addressing the emotions! I'm in my first month solo living FT in a vintage camper I drove from CA to Maine. Such a learning curve! Wow. Your videos help a ton. Much appreciated. π
I really like watching you folks, you look like and act like a really nice people. First question is do you know the LORD. Second is i heard your husband say lets hit the road, I try to encourage every one to say lets get on the road, I say that because at one time i road my motor cycle and i again would tell people please don't hit the road just get on it. Keep up the good videos and may the LORD bless you both take β€ care.
My wife and I are joining the RV community, having come into some money to purchase a rig. We had been camping in a Westfalia, but we've finally decided to upgrade. I have several questions, and I'm sure I will have a lot more. We mostly have been camping in Thousand Trails, since we believe in 'civilised' camping, (need that pool and hot tub π ) but we're getting more adventurous in our goals, including a desired rte 66 trip. The first question for you, is, if you're not towing a car, and your vehicle is 20 ft or more in length, how do you get about town after setting up? I figured I would at least get my bicycles converted to e-bikes, but that doesn't help my wife who can't ride. Any Suggestions?
PS, our new rig is a class C, Vanguard Kodiak, 22 FT
Exactly if We need it β¦ we will to buy it β¦And I like the tip # 10
Our RV has an ordor in the hot water, with even the thing in the hot water heater. WHAT IN THE WORLD! Please help like tag me the answer. Could it be our water from home. We have a 5th wheel now and had a pull behind.
Stacy & Phil,
I absolutely love your channel and you two remind me of my Beautiful Bride (Wendy) and My relationships and life experiences. We just purchased a 26 foot Travel Trailer (Passport 229RK). and plan to go from Canton Ohio to Oregon next summer and this will be a first for both of us. As you have advised our first shakedown cruise will be in two days. The information you both have already provided has been a godsend so from our heart THANK YOU. We look forward to each video you produce.
Sincerely
Bill Vela
Gy/Sgt USMC Ret.
Shake down cruise! Navy forever lol
We are getting onto this because we want to live in different geological locations without having to move an entire house.
We hope to settle in different places until we need new scenery.
We hopefully will have the money and time to "do it all".
I have 11-15 years until I retire. No RV yet but I appreciate the tips!
Such good stuff. Thank you soooo much! Getting ready to buy and go solo and your videos have been very helpful.πβ€οΈ
Thank you so very much for making this informative video which put my worries at rest. I was so geared up and purchasing like crazy. Now I know to slow down and do me. Thank you.
DRy chemical extinguishers tend to settle out very quickly. The best practice is to shake them up on a regular basis, tip the top-down and tap the bottom of the container with a rubber mallet to shake the powder up.
