It’s been six months since our RV has been in a biome other than American Southwest desert. Despite the desolation, the desert has a certain beauty to it that we had warmed up to. Yet upon entering the woodlands we were invigorated by the humid, cool, and crisp mountain air! We feel as if we’ve come home in the forest.

  • This may sound unconventional. Use polysporin or Ozonol crean on the pad. Then cover with a small dia but long sock so it goes quite high on her leg. Next cover with a plastic bag such as one that comes from bread or a little thicker. Then another sock. Last use medical tape around the top of the outer sock to keep it from sliding down.
The bag will keep water from getting in, the outer sock will get soaked but what it does is keep the bag from getting damaged.

This worked for my beagle whom was always walking trails and getting into the brush.

  • I'm A BBQ Lover, So It's Either Cooking BBQ Or Eating BBQ… I Wish You'd Incorporate BBQ Cooking In Your Informative Videos… Maybe Using The $399.99 Treager Wood Pellet Smoker, Which Would Fit In One Of Your Lower RV Bays, Or Even In The Back Of Your Truck… You Might Be Veggie Ppl, IDK, But I Love Watching Any Kind Of BBQ Cooking…

  • Try baby socks one pair for front paws and another for the back with elastic connected to them to stretch over the back and another over the shoulders.

  • Tug tug tug tug tugging and tug with your Rottweiler, more then throwing the ball! Take walks…. Google what Rottweilers are breed for. 🙂 cheers from a huge rotty lover!

  • A little late here… Dalmatian owner for 30+ years. Maybe the best thing to do for Sweetie is to get her feet used to gravel/asphalt/concrete rather than the intermittent play time you're currently doing and then needing prophylactic (balloon boots! lol) fixes. Just like a little puppy, take her out on gravel/asphalt for ten minutes, then 15, then 20. Increase duration and activity like frisbee or throwing a ball. You get what I mean. You gotta tough up her paws gradually and don't slack off. Heck, Dals are historically bred to run 25 miles a day alongside a horse and carriage! Ever see those RV's with a Dalmatian logo? Yep! Does that make sense? 🙂

  • Betadine is a safe and effective antiseptic to prevent infection. It comes in spray form and concentrated liquid. It is available in pharmacies and supermarkets as well as vet clinics.

  • The Mushers Wax is good however you could also pop into a Veterinary Clinic and get some surgical tape that sticks to itself. Vets swear by it.

  • Love the video! Have a question, do you worry that your RV/dog will be gone when you come back? Traveling so far away and not knowing what's happening with your stuff? Haven't rved ever but will start in a few months and have heard stories of people lossing whatever isn't nailed down?

  • We Have a wolf – husky and his paws do the same thing on long walks; gravel /pavement. the vet told us to acclimate the paws to hard surfaces with ease but increase so the paw will be more callused.

  • Bass Lake: location of my honeymoon, ski trip in 1973. Wedding was today in 1973. Also, Shawn James of My Self Reliance, log cabin builder in the wilds of Algonquin park CANADA just bought some snow boots for his golden retriever. Will try to get the info for you. She hasn't lost them in deep snow yet.

  • You all are so genuine and your channel is the best on YouTube of this sort.

  • Ok, I can already feel it coming… This is like, the second or third video we've watched, and I know that I'm going to want to be saying the the same thing every time. You guys are just Sooo enjoyable to watch. You have great balance in awesome visuals, very interesting (informative) shared…uh, information. But it's also just the very pleasant way you come across. It's like hearing from friends. We are looking at starting soon (maybe I commented that before?), but watching these literally makes me drool. LOL.
Anyway, long comment–short question: with your tech equipment (drone, cameras, etc) do you recommend the ones you have or are there different ones you are looking at upgrading to?

  • yeah I get it, my entire life I have lived in Ozarks and East Texas. So tall trees, green grass, old broken down gas station, farms etc. So when I was in the west for 3 months I really missed the trees

  • To heal paw wounds, you could clean the wound w/ Hydrogen Peroxide; then rinse w/ Normal Saline. You could also soak her paw w/ Epsom Salts (1/2 handful) dissolved in water—not too much epsom salt or it could hurt (burn feeling). Witch Hazel is also healing & it doesn’t burn.

  • I’m so in awe of your adventurous, courageous spirit & journeys! Bravo to your sweet family!

  • Mushers was is awesome. And I use ruffwear booties and they stay on well!!

  • Poor sweetie! Don't beat yourself up over it , im sure at some point sweetie has hurt you on accident and just like you know she didn't do it on purpose, she knows you would never hurt her on purpose. If that makes sense lol growing up we had a Dalmatians and he hurt his paw one time and then after that he kept re-injuring it. My dad would bandage it up and use one of our old tall soccer socks to keep Lucky from chewing his bandage off. So maybe try buying some kids soccer socks for her to wear next time y'all are staying or hiking in a place with concrete or asphalt.
