Heritage Labs – Still Open for Business! 15% Discount

At a time when so many of the larger pro labs have either been forced to temporarily close down or dramatically scale down their production, one small business is still keeping its doors open to support professional photographers and to provide a potential way to create an income stream at a time when so many social jobs have had to be cancelled.

Heritage Photo Albums, whose origins go back to just after the World War II, is still open for business and able to supply its usual range of quality handmade traditional albums. This, in turn, gives professional wedding and portrait photographers the opportunity to approach past clients who might not have ordered an album at the time of their original shoot to offer a deal whereby they can now order a product that could have immense personal value.

“For some years now we’ve had our sales office based in Sussex and the bindery in Wiltshire,” says Heritage Photo Albums marketing director Jerri Smith. “When the pandemic began we quickly ensured we had best practice guidelines in place for the bindery and reduced the staffing accordingly to make sure our colleagues were safe.

“Despite everything that’s going on in the industry at the moment it’s been a busy time for us. Lots of photographers who work with us are looking to complete projects for their clients which means, of course, they can then be paid for their work.”

Jerri notes that there has been a noticeable shift back to traditional photo albums in recent times, reflected in an average rise in turnover over the past three years of around 45%. “We take so many photos today on our smartphones,” observes Jerri, “but printing a photo and keeping it in a photo album says that this moment was special and needs to be treasured.”
