Hello,

Daniel here from Sussex Campervans. We’ve been working hard to develop an electric campervan that is both affordable and provides a great user experience. Our customers overwhelmingly told us that they wanted an option that helped to reduce their carbon footprint, and we listened.

That’s why we took all the popular features of the Nissan NV200 camper van and put it into a different, but more environmentally friendly, camper car conversion. The e-NV200. Finding an electric campervan model that could provide the utility which we all expect from a petrol or diesel engine was difficult, but Nissan are the van company currently leading the charge on electric camper models, as the world’s leading manufacturer of mass-produced electric cars. It launched the Nissan Leaf car in December 2010. This is now the world’s best-selling plug-in electric car, offering a WLTP range quoted as 187 miles when fully charged. The Renault-Nissan Alliance has now spent billions of pounds developing electric vehicles and improving the batteries.

The next step was to launch a small van, suitable for short-range deliveries in towns and cities where the air quality is critical. Nissan duly launched the e-NV200 utility van in 2014. By October, there was a prototype e-NV200 electric campervan conversion for sale.

Suddenly this new e-NV200 Campervan is a good option for those who like to make the journey part of their holiday. If you’re happy to explore Britain in stages, charging up each night, the good news is that you can go carbon-free right now!

One forward-looking van converter, Sussex Campervans, near Horsham in West Sussex, has developed the first all-electric e-NV200 Camper. Not only does the vehicle’s engine run on electricity, but all the appliances within the vehicle are electric, too. This represents a major shift in thinking – previously campervans have always had gas or diesel on-board to power the heating and cooking. At last there’s a chance to travel without polluting the beautiful natural world that we want to enjoy.

Fast charging is possible, thanks to the onboard 6.6kWh charger allows the battery to be charged to 80 per cent in well under an hour at a compatible Quick Charge Point. Otherwise it takes around 8 hours on a 32 Amp wall box. You can use eco mode to improve the range, by slowing acceleration and also by recovering energy during coasting and braking on a journey.

Take a look at the exclusive new interior style which we have developed, enjoy the sumptuous upholstery and the sleek, stylish cabinetry; feel the warmth of natural materials and soft colours. Imagine yourself relaxing and enjoying your leisure time – and the day-to-day – in a vehicle which truly can handle it all. Imagine yourself in the new e-NV200 CamperCar from Sussex Campervans.

Then, stop imagining and start planning… visit https://www.sussexcampervans.com/e-nv200 and let’s talk about how the new e-NV200 CamperCar can become an integral part of your life.

***UPDATE:***

Pricing starts from £59,995 – which includes all of the features which you see in these videos, plus our 20:20 style upgrade and the government incentive.

  • Can you charge the interior electrics from the same type of public 32v EV charging station? Are the batteries connected? Or is it separate, normal electric hookup for the interior? I guess you could plug in a dc-dc charger from the van power, while it's charging on the EV charger?

Edit** – I looked at Nissan's specs on the van, so I get it has a dual 400V and 12V system, so the public EV will charge the interior electric use, as I understand.

  • Any way to order it from U.S. with steering wheel on the left. I love the old school control panel and analog meter; nice touch!

  • Why do I have such expensive tastes? This is exactly what I’m looking for but no way can I afford £60,000!!😱. Apart from the cost…Living in a block of flats with an external rental garage, I can’t get an answer on how I would charge the vehicle at home as the government still seem to be working this one out. Can you help?

  • finally a car that can dry my hair, this has always been my greatest concern

  • Must admit, the hairdryer did the trick, that is the way to get your girl camping.

But seriously, do you charge the housebattery from the 12 volt car battery or better, from the EV-battery?

If I would supply you with a mainland, lefthanddrive e-NV200 evalia (passenger version) would you be able to change it into a camper?

  • I love this so much. Finally an electric camper van. The only problem, like so many of its electric friends is the cost! Seriously, I would have to sell my house to finance this vehicle! I don't want a campervan because its now fashionable and the latest trend. I would like one so we can expand our hiking and camping trips. 2 dogs, 1 adventure cat and 2 adults is a tight squeeze at times in our backpacking tents! Work on the cost of these and you'd sell loads more.

  • Hi Daniel! The van looks really superb! I've driving electric cars since 2014 and really want to but a camper van in the next few years and sell the car. Going electric with the van would be ideal! The 40kw battery is just too small, though! Do you know when Nissan are updating their eNV-200 design and giving it the larger 60kw battery? Hopefully in a few years, when I'm ready to buy, that'll have happened and you'll be converting these newest vans too!

  • 4 numbers of mini wind turbines also need. So you can create power while driving.

  • Our freedom to travel in #Portugal without major restrictions is coming to an end. Starting 9th of January, there's a new Law that prohibits overnight stays and parking in ALL places that are not designated for #Motorhomes or #Campervans (for the entire Portuguese territory).⁣

⁣We gathered all the information and created a public Post quite complete about the current situation of #motorhomes and #vanlife in #Portugal. So to understand the context of this publication, we advise you to read this Post carefully. The link is available on our Bio (https://www.instagram.com/travelinspirept/) or can be accessed at http://www.patreon.com/travelinspirept. (only in Portuguese sorry)⁣

⁣This is clearly the result of several situations that happened in the year 2020 and that the media insisted on emphasizing, often associating #motorhomes and #vanlifers to the pollution of the Alentejo and Algarve Coast.⁣

⁣For us who have been traveling full-time for two years in our #van that has been legalized and has all the conditions to be self-sufficient, this is a major attack on our freedom. Our lifestyle is compromised when this freedom of choice is taken away.⁣

⁣For those who follow us, mainly on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/travelinspirept), you know that we always practice and promote this way of life in a responsible and conscious way, always respecting space and nature, showing others how to do the same. This situation that is happening in Portugal, makes us deeply sad.⁣

⁣There are two petitions currently underway so that we can reverse or change the law. Everyone's collaboration is very important and that is why we ask you to sign. Links to them are also available in our Bio.⁣ (https://www.instagram.com/travelinspirept/)

⁣Lastly we ask you to share this Post, it is very important for us, so that we can raise awareness of this problem.⁣

    Thank you so much.

    Stay safe!

  • Do you have any links or information on that tap, it is absolutely class I cant find one that good anywhere!

  • Need it with righthand drive, and eu sockets, and Norwegian spesifications, with winter in mind.

  • Nice to see some electric camper van options, so few available. The only issue I have is range within the Scottish highlands. You mentioned you have fitted larger batteries, are these just for internal electrics or do they add to the range of the vehicle? Could any additional vehicle batteries be added to bring range up to something like 250 miles?

  • this is really great … and one of the not so many full-electric vans available in the market currently as far as i can tell … but the ideal choice, ie, a hybrid van with a similar size and spx is out of the question, right? now, please correct me if i'm wrong: by the sounds of it, having a hybrid van is against the fossil fuel manufacturing industry's religion and it's not to happen any time soon … or is it?! are there any hybrid vans of this size, or slightly bigger? (i know of much larger full-electric vans of course … but that's not exactly what i'm looking for …)

  • No mention of range? Seem to recall the standard can having a range of around 100 miles

  • I notice you didnt talk about any of the practical issues such as, what is the range of the vehicle under 85% charge, or how long it takes to recharge the batteries if hooked up to a typical camp site electric hook up?

  • What a shame it is not called a "Nissan Dormer" 😂😂😂

  • Excellent work. As an owner of a diesel powered Sussex Campervans conversion I have been waiting for an electric conversion for a while now. This looks very good. I'm sure there will be a slew of alternative EV vans to convert in the next few years, especially as battery density increases. Well done Daniel and the team – plus that IS an impressive Lockdown Beard!

  • Does this charge the van batteries (drive and leisure) overnight from a campsite hook up point ?

  • The egg and dairy industries and really very cruel, maybe cruelty free options would be an option for next time?

  • I really like the look of this camper. Wonder how much it might cost with solar panels fitted and porta potty included? Just would love to go touring come springtime.

  • Now to become a Muxsan partner so you can do the range extension pack too. They have a not listed option of an extra 20kw pack where the spare wheel holder is. Not only does this extend the range but full removes rapid gate and keeps the charge rate at the max 50kwh for most of the charge cycle too. https://muxsan.com/English/products.html

  • How much is it🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

  • You’ve made a nice job of it, range limited but with planning can’t see why it should be a problem. I’ll give the van 5/5 and the beard 2/5 👏👏
